Brewer Ron Raike departs Cask & Larder

In a seemingly unpredictable move, Florida brewer Ron Raike has departed Wonter Park’s Cask & Larder brewpub for a new and mysterious brewery project. Details of Raike’s next beer move have yet to materialize, Cask & Larder would only say that his next venture is an “independent” one.

In the interim, Cask & Larder has hired a “tandem of brewers” to hold down the fort while they search for new talent.

According to the Cask & Larder newsletter:

Florida micro-brewing pioneers, Scott and Bill Morton, brothers from St. Augustine, will maintain the brewing efforts at Cask & Larder, effective immediately. The Morton brothers, longtime friends of Cask & Larder owners/chefs James and Julie Petrakis, will oversee The Brewery during the transition until a new permanent brewmaster has been determined.

Scott and Bill Morton have earned their stripes in the Jacksonville craft brewing scene working to open Ragtime Tavern and Seven Bridges Grille and Brewery.
