Cigar City releases 2015 calendar brings surprises and additions to lineup

Tampa’s Cigar City Brewing released their calendar of 2015 releases yesterday, and the information it contains brought cheers and a shock or two from local followers. The calendar shows that much will continue as it has since Cigar City expanded: 12oz cans available, some increased production of hot seasonal beers, and a few faces that will not appear in 2015.

The usual: Cigar City’s core beers Jai Alai IPA, Maduro Brown Ale, Florida Cracker White Ale, Tocobaga Red Ale, Invasion Pale Ale, and Hotter than Helles Lager continue to anchor the core beer spots. Cucumber Saison and Patio Pils will keep slaking summer thirsts. Warmer Winter Winter Warmer and Sugar Plum Brown Ale will hold it down for Christmastime beers.

Increases: White Oak Jai Alai IPA and Cubano Espresso will alternate months of availability in 2015.

Packaging change: Look for beers like Puppy’s Breath Porter to now see 22oz bottles. Cafe Americano Stout (non barrel-aged) will also see bottles for the first time this year.

New additions: Some surprises here: Cigar City will be adding a new DIPA to production in March and a new IPA in May. A new Pumpkin beer has been added to the summertime schedule and The Dark Woods series will return in October. Finally, a new Imperial Stout has been added to December.

Farewells: According to Facebook, “All Humidor Series beers are on indefinite hiatus” because the brewery is having trouble sourcing quality Spanish cedar for the beers.

Nitro Beers: Cigar City continues their push for nitrogenated beers both in distribution and in the tasting room. Hornswaggled, Cafe Con Leche, and Horchata will both have two months of nitrogen production this year.

Take a look for yourself and see what surprises CCB’s calendar has in store for the new year.
