Crooked Thumb Brewery announces first bottle release

Crooked Thumb Brewery has been making waves in their Safety Harbor community, and now the brewery is announcing their first-ever bottle release.

From Crooked Thumb Brewery:

Join us for the release of our very first bottles. We’re holding a Crooked Thumb style “Inauguration Day” on January 20th, 2017 beginning at 4pm, to introduce two brews from our Abbey of the South line of Belgian Ales, a Brett Singel aged on Plums and a Trippel.

More about the beers:

Abbey of the South Trippel 10% ABV – A tasting room favorite with a limited release in bottles. This strong Belgian Ale is comprised of Pilsner and wheat malts and flaked oats for a full rich mouthfeel. Noble hop aromatics prevail with esters of orange rind, clove, banana and apricot. Becomes more complex as it warms.

Brett Singel Ale aged on Plums 6% ABV – With faint aromas of pear, plum and clove that give way to an array of flavors from the yeast’s early presence. This release finds the addition of plums resulting in a second fermentation with hints of ripe fruit.

About Crooked Thumb Brewery
Crooked Thumb Brewery owes it’s name to Pinellas County, which has been said to “hang off the west coast of Florida like a crooked thumb.” We decided on the name not only because of it’s reference to the geographic shape of the county but also its more literal reference to a uniquely shaped hand. We make hand crafted ales and we strive to do it in a fresh and unique way. We value alternative thinking and welcome anyone who, like a crooked thumb, sticks out.

When searching for a home for the brewery, there really was only one choice – the city of Safety Harbor. With it’s laid-back, small town charm, abundance of independently owned shops and restaurants and gorgeous bay-side location, it provides the perfect setting. We are excited to be a part of this community and provide a place where residents and visitors can gather, relax and enjoy.
