Arkane Ale Works inks distribution deal

Largo’s Arkane Ale Works announced today that the brewery has signed a distribution agreement with Oceanic Sunset Distributing.

From Arkane Ale Works:

After more than 3 years of hoarding all our beers exclusively in our tasting room, we have finally made the decision to share with the rest of the world…or at least Pinellas County. We signed distribution with our friends at Oceanic Sunset so you can now find our liquid in a few locations around the Bay Area!

Arkane’s beers will be available first at The Ale and the Witch, at the brewery’s launch party scheduled for Tuesday, October 29th.

When asked why they signed distribution, Arkane co-owner Joe Scheibelhut emphasized that Arkane is not looking to take over the world, merely to keep people excited about the beers they make:

We originally thought we’d move at least 80% of our beers in distro and 20% through our tasting room. We were seriously wrong!

Thankfully we had such an overwhelming response in our tasting room, it was hard for us to make enough beer to keep up with demand. A few years later and with the help of our staff, we are able to keep up with production and move a little beer into distribution.

We still don’t make a lot of liquid, but this move will hopefully gain us some brand awareness because craft is evolving into such a hyper-local market as more breweries open every day. You won’t see us on shelves at Publix, but hopefully people can now enjoy a pint of Arkane at their local pub or favorite eatery!

About Arkane Ale Works

Arkane Aleworks is a brewery founded by Joe Scheibelhut (actual spelling) and Dan Graston, and represents the culmination of years of passion and planning. It started as two poor kids with a dream and has grown into two poor kids with a dream a Facebook page, and a brewery but the best is yet to come!

Why Arkane? Arcane means “understood by few, mysterious or secret.” To us, it represents the aspect of brewing that historically, and to this day, remains misunderstood and elusive. It’s the intersection of vocation and art, and it’s the inspiration for all the innovation and collaboration found in the Craft Beer Movement. The reason yeast was once called “God is Good.” It’s the core of what drives us and brings us together: the calling to solve those mysteries and uncover new flavors. To seek out new life and new civili…oh, sorry, our bad. In short, it’s the motivation to spend a whole bunch of time and sweat making new beers to share with our friends. Yes, you too.
