Fort Myers- In the Point Ybel area of Southwest Florida there is an air of anticipation as the area’s third production brewery gains momentum toward opening day. The lighthouse-themed Point Ybel Brewing Company announced last week that they have received their first grain shipment and would be brewing soon. Then later in the week, the brewery posted pictures of their tap handles, and indicated that an announcement would be forthcoming on their opening day and festivities.
Houston, Texas- Saint Arnold Brewing Company, the 46th largest brewery in the United States is currently looking to expand distribution into Florida, and plans to be on shelves mid-October.
Saint Petersburg- Yesterday Florida got one step closer to adding another microbrewery to its roll.
Boynton Beach’s Due South Brewing will convene “The Club” this evening.

Tampa’s brewing future just got a little bit brighter today. Angry Chair Brewing announced late yesterday that their wet zoning was approved by the Tampa City Council. Translation- when the brewery opens in 2013 or early 2014, they will be able to have a tasting room that pours and sells beer. Angry Chair has a location in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa.
Oakland Park- The Funky Buddha Brewery, makers of such beloved beers as No Crusts, Bonita Applebaum, Nib Smuggler, and Maple Bacon Coffee Porter announced a new face in the captain’s chair.
