Sea Dog Brewing Company, which is an offshoot of the Shipyard Brewing Company of Maine, has recently announced that they will be expanding into the Florida market via the addition of a 20-barrel brewhouse onto their Clearwater pub. The Sea Dog expansion was recently featured in the Tampa Tribune, and here are a few highlights:
Shipyard Brewing has announced intentions to become a Florida beer. Shipyard is presently based out of Portland, Maine with pubs in the Northeastern U.S. and two pubs in Central Florida (one in Orlando and one in Clearwater). The installation of a 20-barrel brewing system in the Clearwater pub marks a significant investment in Florida by the Maine company. The Sea Dog Pub began brewing on a 1.5 barrel brewing system once each month according to an article in Tampa’s Creative Loafing. Shipyard would like the expanded operation to be open by February.
