Miami brewer and South Florida institution Johnathan Wakefield has been in Tampa for a little while, working with Cigar City Brewing and perfecting his craft to take down to Miami and produce world-class beers on his 15-barrel brewery, J. Wakefield Brewing.

While up in the Treasure City, Wakefield has not been idle. Painters find a way to paint, philosophers will do what philosophers do, and brewers will find a way to brew. One of Wakefield’s projects was to brew his own Dragonfruit Passionfruit Florida Berliner Weiss on Cigar City’s pilot system with the crew at CCB.

Today, Sunday, Wakefield and the Brewpub announced that Wakefield’s PFDF will go on draft at 5:30pm at Cigar City Brewpub, located at 15491 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.

5:30pm we will be tapping a keg of J Wakefield’s Dragonfruit/Passionfruit Florida Weisse brewed on Cigar City Brewing’s pilot system to be paired with a Hamachi Ceviche (Japanese Yellowtail Amberjack w/ aji amarillo emulsion, pineapple, dragonfruit, glazed sweet potato, Bermuda onions). $14 a pairing while it lasts, cheers!
