Sarasota- Jdub’s Brewing Company is making strides towards opening a production brewery and tasting room in the Sarasota area and has put in long hours to bring the freshest possible craft beer to the hometown crowd.
A short time ago, Jeremy Joerger had a comfortable government job in Washington D.C., and an aspiration to make great beer. The two pieces did not fit together, so he decided to take a journey that would change his life: a journey to Sarasota, Florida. When Joerger arrived in Sarasota, he was attracted to the pace of life, the sea breezes, and the burgeoning craft beer scene. Other areas of the country have been tapped out and have craft breweries all over town, but not Sarasota, not yet.
Joerger then decided that he did not want to be stuck with a dream deferred, so he quit his comfortable job and moved down to the county south of Tampa Bay and began working towards the opening of Jdub’s Brewing Company.
Jdub’s Brewing Company is Jeremy’s vision of a brewery: beers as creative as the people who run the place, the freshest possible beer from the best ingredients, and a beer that locals can take pride in.
So far, Jdub’s has announced two core beers: The Yodeler Pils, an authentic German Pils, and Up Top! IPA, but Jdub’s will feature a pilot brewing system for small-batch brews to tap in the tasting room. As Joerger gets to know the market, Jdub’s will feature more beers in its lineup.
Jdub’s is currently planning on opening in November/ December. Construction has begun, and opening plans were 45 days after that (no word on how the government shutdown may affect this date). Jdub’s plans to distribute in kegs at first then progress to a canning line shortly after that.
Look for more information on Jdub’s opening as it becomes available.
