Commentary:

This new date is either a departure or a return.  The first Hunahpu’s Day took place on a Friday night in what is now the brewery’s Fermentorium.  It was a low-key, relatively informal event.  Since the massive growth in popularity and the event’s status as an anchor of Tampa Bay Beer Week, the appearance of Hunahpu’s Day on a Friday is an interesting choice for CCB.

We will post more information as the story develops.

About Cigar City Brewing
Steeped in the unique culture and history of Tampa, Florida, we began handcrafting award-winning beer in 2009. Our beers bring to mind the sun and citrus for which Florida is known, while taking cues from the cigar industry upon which Tampa was built.

Cigar City Brewing, makers of Jai Alai and Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout, was founded in 2009 by Joey Redner with the goal of creating quality beer that reflected the flavors and history of the Tampa region. This unique perspective resonated with the local and national markets alike and the brewery has quickly grown from 1,000 barrels of beer in 2009 to an excess of 65,000 barrels produced in 2016. The 2016 partnership with Oskar Blues of Lyons, Colorado ushered in a new era of growth for this Florida-based organization, with new markets and technologies on the horizon.
