Acclaimed, local craft beer brewer, Johnathan Wakefield of J. Wakefield Brewing, in Wynwood, will be hosting a new radio show, The Beer Hour with Johnathan Wakefield, on @siriusxm, Channel 132. The show debuts tomorrow, May 27th at 7pm ET. Replays are on Friday at 2AM, Saturday at 8PM and Sunday at 9PM.
The hour-long show will examine the intersection between craft beer and popular culture. It will feature two guests, each week; one craft beer brewer and one craft beer lover from some other field of endeavor, such as chefs, artists, musicians, and athletes. JWB’s head brewer and operations manager, Maria Cabré, will co-host the show.
“I’m so excited about the new show and being able to talk to interesting people, not only about craft beer, but the industry itself, larger social issues, and all the stuff we love in pop culture,” Wakefield said.
The first episode will feature Teo Hunter, co-founder of Crowns & Hops Brewing Co in Inglewood, California. Johnathan and Teo will discuss diversity in brewing, among other topics.
Aaron Brooks, Executive Chef at EDGE, Steak and Bar at Four Seasons Hotel Miami will also join the show, to discuss barbecue culture in his native Australia and to offer tips for Memorial Day weekend cookouts.
The Beer Hour with Johnathan Wakefield is the first radio show on SiriusXM to focus on the world of craft beer. Repeat episodes will be available as podcasts on Pandora.
