Big Storm Brewing Co. creates specialty beer for C&C Lemonade Factory to support childhood cancer

Press Release – Big Storm Brewing Co. is teaming up with C&C Lemonade Factory to support childhood cancer by creating a special-edition beer. Tomorrow, June 25, the Clearwater-based company is hosting a pop-up lemonade stand fundraiser with 8-year-old Caroline Gallagher and her sister 6-year-old Charlotte of C&C Lemonade Factory. In honor of the event, Big Storm has created a new lemon shandy; a wheat ale with a touch of citrus and Big Storm’s soon-to-be-released lemonade.

Caroline was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 18 months old. Just six months later, her two-year-old cousin, Julia, was also diagnosed with cancer. After more than two and a half years of treatment, Caroline is in remission. Sadly, Julia lost her fight with cancer. Caroline is committed to making a difference to honor Julia’s fight, and Big Storm Brewing Co. is proud to support her mission to help all childhood cancer warriors fighting this disease.

The media is encouraged to attend.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation: Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $150 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 800 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
