Ferndale, MI- 7venth Sun Brewer Justin Stange recently posted vague news of a collaboration between Dunedin’s 7venth Sun Brewery and Michigan’s B. Nektar Meadery.
B. Nektar Meadery is the same meadery that created Ghost Stories Dark Braggot with Tampa’s Cigar City Brewing, utilizing meadowfoam honey to create a marshmallow effect in the brew. Dunedin’s 7venth Sun Brewery has notched its belt with a collaboration beer brewed at Highland Brewing in North Carolina dubbed Trail Mix Porter and a high-gravity shandy called Hand Shandy that was brewed with Georgia’s Sweet Water Brewing.
It is unclear yet what the collaboration brew will be; only that according to B. Nektar the brew will contain lactobacillus, a bacteria traditionally used in sour beers.
According to B. Nektar, distribution will be minimal, and “[w]e may not even release it. Only 10 gallons. Probably just in the taproom if at all. If it works out, I would like to make a REALLY big batch and release it into distribution.”
More information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
