When many Florida breweries began building their facilities, some of the only companies in America that made brewing systems were located in corners of the country like the Pacific Northwest. The other option was to order from overseas companies located in Europe or Asia. In order to order a brewing system from the United States, a brewery had to send away and wait for months or even years until their system was ready for shipping. Then it was loaded onto a semi truck and sent across the country until it arrived at its final destination.
With the founding of BrewFab, this is no longer the case. Now Florida breweries that want to keep their money (and tank construction) within the state of Florida can do so. BrewFab is a tank construction company based in Saint Petersburg that has been making brewing tanks for a little over a year now. They have already constructed tanks for breweries like Cycle Brewing and 3 Daughters Brewing, and have posted updates on other breweries that have bought their services.
BrewFab has made or is currently making tanks for:
* The Waterfront Brewery in Key West
* Infinite Ale Works in Ocala
* Stilt House Brewing in Palm Harbor
* Coppertail Brewing of Tampa
* Barley Mow Brewing of Largo (“Big Things” in the works)
* 3 Daughters Brewing of Saint Petersburg (“Big Things” in the works)
BrewFab is run by Rick Cureton and his son out of their Pinellas County workshop. Rick and his staff currently have a seven month waiting list for tanks, according to a profile on ABC Action News. The company has proven invaluable for Saint Petersburg’s nascent and ever-growing craft beer industry allowing for quicker tank construction and delivery than ever before.
