On Tuesday, August 5th, America celebrated National Oyster Day. In Apalachicola, a city built on the oyster industry, folks were striking up the band for another reason. The Oyster City Brewing Company finally opened its doors to the public–an event that took longer than expected, but brought in the small community.
According to an article by public radio’s WFSU, this brewery is looking to fill a need in the community: fresh, local beer on tap to pair with Apalachicola’s seafood.
Oyster City had four beers on tap for their grand opening. Oyster City has three regular beers, and they are working in seasonal beers according to the brewery’s website. The brewery features 6.8%ABV Apalach IPA, 5.2% Mill Pond Dirty Blonde, and 8.4% Hooter Brown Tupelo Honey Ale.
Congratulations to Oyster City Brewing Company.
