SweetWater logo

This headline is a literal one. Sweetwater Brewing of Atlanta is not changing their beer but the bottle that contains them. Sweetwater has followed the likes of Dogfish Head and Green Flash and had their bottles custom made with a logo on the neck. Look for new bottles to ship within the next week or so, according to the Sweetwater newsletter.

One more piece of news from the same newsletter is that Sweetwater will now be bottle conditioning their beers.

Conditioned For Your Pleasure
Way back in February when we started canning, we also started conditioning 420 and IPA in cans. Well, now we’re rampin’ up the project and expanding to condition our bottled brews too, starting with 420 and then expanding to our other brands from there.

This overhaul project is a quality advancement for the brewery, and a natural way for us to carbonate our brews to keep em fresher, longer. We’ve got a nifty infographic below to visually breakdown the bottle conditioning process and the science behind it.

You shouldn’t notice much of a change in the brews, except maybe some leftover yeast floating at the bottom of your bottle. But don’t worry, it’s natural and won’t hurt ya or affect the flavor.
