Orlando Brewing brings back Chocolate Mint Girl Stout

Press Release:

Florida’s local, organic microbrewery will release their certified organic Chocolate Mint Girl Stout to the public on November 15th 2014. Girl Stout was the first beer in Orlando Brewing’s Babes’ Brew Series, a line dedicated to women in the craft beer industry. First drafted and crafted by the ladies of Orlando Brewing in 2013, Girl Stout was the fastest moving beer in Orlando Brewing history. And for good reason –

The local Central Florida business has decided to triple this year’s batch and distribute Girl Stout outside their taproom. Women from four Florida distribution companies arrived bright and early on brewing day to collaborate with the women of Orlando Brewing in handcrafting the stout.

Brewing was a new experience for three of the four representatives. Megan Cheek, Brewery Operations Manager and spearhead of the Babes’ Brew Series, was thrilled to have the women on board. “It is important to get more ladies involved in the brewing process, because beer?” says Cheek, “Beer is not just a man’s drink Chocolate Mint Girl Stout was brewed with organic cacao nibs and organic peppermint sourced from Good Life to Go, a local Central Florida business. The 6.5% stout will boast a robust chocolate flavor and the perfect touch of mint. Cocoa nibs and peppermint were added during the brew’s 60 minute boil alongside Nugget, Fuggles, and Liberty hops, and then again post-fermentation in the bright tank.

Girl Stout will be available on tap and in bottles at 1pm in the Orlando Brewing Taproom on November 15th. All ladies will receive Happy Hour pricing on Orlando Brewing’s organic draft beers throughout the day and the live, local music of the Rhetorics and the Jim Parson Project will begin at 9pm. Girl Stout will be available on draft in select bars after November 17th. Cities with Girl Stout availability will include Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Sarasota, Deerfield and Fort Pierce.
