Tampa Bay History Center has Tampa’s Brewing History On Tap for a limited time.
Raise a glass to the brewers of yesterday and today at the Tampa Bay History Center. Head down to the museum at 801 Old Water Street in Tampa to check out the exhibit “History by the Pint: Beer and Brewing in Tampa Bay.”
This special exhibit catalogs the brewing history of the Tampa Bay area from prehistory to 1897 and from the opening of Florida’s first craft brewery up to the current wave of Tampa Bay craft beer.
“It was a special privilege to collaborate with the folks at Tampa Bay History Center and assemble such a fine collection of items from Tampa Bay’s past and present breweries,” says Mark DeNote, editor of Florida Beer News who consulted on the exhibit. “The curatorial and administrative staff were excellent in their care of these historic artifacts, and Tampa Bay’s brewers were very generous in their donations of time and treasures. I hope that this exhibit helps generate buzz and authentic conversations around Tampa Bay’s craft breweries.”
Artifacts on display include loans from Dunedin Brewery, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Cigar City Brewing, Saint Somewhere Brewery, private collectors, and much more.
Admission includes all History Center galleries, including the special exhibitions “History by the Pint: Beer and Brewing in Tampa Bay” and “On Track: A History of Florida Railroads.”
History by the Pint: Beer and Brewing in Tampa Bay will be on display from now until the first week of August, and is the largest collection of items ever assembled from Tampa’s historic breweries and displayed for the public. Come visit today!
