By now, the news has spread pretty far about Angry Chair Brewing’s plans to establish a newer, larger home in the Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa.
In this episode of the BeerWise podcast, I talk to Angry Chair owner and co-founder Ryan Dowdle about his path into the beer industry and the forces that shaped Angry Chair. We also talk about the brewery’s new home in Seminole Heights – the building formerly occupied by Brew Bus Brewing. Angry Chair has big plans for the space, including expanding their lager offerings and being able to brew more IPA.
Ryan and I also talk about Angry Chair’s lauded and sought-after imperial stouts: how they came to be, where they are going, and how the pandemic help shape the brewery’s new method of releasing beer.

About Angry Chair Brewing
You’re probably here for the stouts, that’s what we are most known for. There’s no line we won’t cross in that area, and we appreciate the love we receive for our interpretations of that style. With beer, you’re always learning, experimenting, and tweaking something. We consider our beers forward-thinking, and we don’t always brew to style. Somehow we won a gold medal for our pilsner though, so we can follow the rules if we want to.
We have a 1,900 sq. ft. brewery filled with as much stainless as we could possibly squeeze in there. We also have a 2,000 sq. ft. barrel house across the street.
We brew beer, we age beer, we bottle beer, we’re gonna can beer, and we definitely drink beer.
