Tampa- One of Tampa’s prominent new breweries, Angry Chair Brewing Company, is asking for help from craft beer enthusiasts throughout Florida and the United States.
Today, Thursday, July 18th, the brewery is to go before the Tampa City Council asking for their wet zoning (their ability to sell alcohol). Some residents have voiced concerns about parking, and this could affect Angry Chair. Angry Chair has offered to have employees bike to work in order to avoid any potential parking issues, as well as working with neighboring businesses for overflow parking. In order to have a tasting room, Angry Chair must be allowed wet zoning, after all what good is a brewery tasting room that does not sell alcohol?
Angry Chair is asking their fans and fans of craft beer to email or call the Tampa City Council and voice support for them. This is an important moment in the history of Angry Chair and the brewery needs a little help. If you are from Tampa- tell them about how you support them. If you are not from Tampa, tell the council how you will travel to Tampa to see the brewery and bring your tourist dollars with you. If that does not work for you, then simply send a concise email saying, “My name is _______, and I support Angry Chair Brewing Company’s wet zoning.”
Angry Chair has been pouring their beer at local festivals in order to make the public aware of what they are trying to do. Their new brewery and tasting room is to be located in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa, near The Refinery restaurant.
Please take a moment and send an email or make a phone call to the Tampa City Council in support of Angry Chair Brewing Company. Their email address is: tampacitycouncil@tampagov.net
