This pandemic has been rough on many Florida craft brewers. We’re sad to say that whenever a brewery begins a post with an address aimed directly at their audience, beer enthusiasts hold their collective breath until the end of the post and hope that it is not another post about a brewery in the craft beer community closing.

At around 7:30 am on Thursday, August 27th, Big Blue Brewing of Cape Coral posted an address to their local beer community:

Big Blue Brewing friends, 2020 was a Strange and Difficult year for our family, we had a lot of loss, Covid-19 and then more sorrow and loss. We started to realize we needed to spend more time with our family. We decided this Sat August 29th. We will be closing Big Blue Brewing for good. We had a lot of fun, we love The South Cape and the events we helped create.
Thank you all for the Friendship, Support, and Love. We will never forget any of our Wonderful times with you and Big Blue
Brewing.
Please know any Big Blue Brewing gift cards will be honored. We will follow up with information or please call the Brewery.
Thank you.
Big Blue Brewing also announced that another Florida brewery will be taking over the space that they had created and modified into a brewery.
It was important to us to keep our location growing so we looked for a good fit – Big Storm Brewing will be opening up in our location in Oct. Please support them.
This will mark the second Cape Coral location for Big Storm Brewing.
