The Great American Beer Festival is proving increasingly popular both with breweries and with beer-drinkers. This year’s festival sold out in less than a day, and saw stiff competition in the beer judging. This year saw 4,809 beers being judged across 84 beer categories in 138 different beer styles.

The competition was fierce and Florida’s lone medal was won by Cigar City Brewing in the Pro-Am Competition for their Poblano Wit, a collaboration between Cigar City’s Head Brewer Wayne Wambles and homebrewer Jeff Gladish.

With this gold medal, Cigar City Brewing has taken home a medal each year they have entered the competition at GABF. Previous winners include Cucumber Saison, Humidor Series India Pale Ale, and Minaret ESB. Congratulations to Cigar City Brewing, all the Florida breweries who entered the competition, and Jeff Gladish!
