The Miami-area craft brewer, J. Wakefield Brewing has hosted Wakefest, an annual invitational beer festival and anniversary celebration, for the past eight years. In a letter dated 2/9, the brewery announces that the festival will not have its scheduled slot in 2024.
From J. Wakefield Brewing:
This letter is to express our sincere apologies for the cancelation of this year’s Wakefest, an event that holds great importance to not only us but to our community.
Over the past year, J. Wakefield Brewing has undergone significant changes, both internally and externally. These unforeseen circumstances have led to delays in our planning and execution process. We understand the anticipation and excitement surrounding Wakefest, and we share your disappointment in not being able to bring Wakefest to you as originally scheduled.
We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your unwavering loyalty and patience during these times. Your support means the world to us, and we are committed to having a celebration like Wakefest that reflects our dedication to our community. Until then, we will continue to release core beers, old favorites and plenty of brand-new beers that will now be more accessible locally and out of state.
We also want to express our sincere apologies to all of the past invited breweries for any inconvenience or disappointment caused by this. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for the commitments and efforts from each and every one of the breweries, vendors, and volunteers that have been instrumental in making Wakefest possible in the past.
We want to assure you that our team is working tirelessly to overcome all obstacles and deliver something B.I.G. in May.
Once again, thank you for your patience, loyalty and understanding.
Thank You,
J. Wakefield Brewing
