Miami’s J. Wakefield Brewing Company is not resting on laurels. After a stint in Tampa Bay brewing at Cigar City Brewing, the Cigar City Brewpub, and Brewer’s Tasting Room, owner Johnathan Wakefield announced recently that one of the brewery’s next projects will be a collaboration with Escondido, California’s Stone Brewing Company.

Stone Brewing Company has a record of collaborating with many other breweries across the country, incorporating both large and small breweries in brewing beers that express mutual creativity and terroir around the U.S.

Since opening its doors in 1996, Stone Brewing Company brews on their two 120 bbl brewing system built by Rolec in Bavaria, Germany in their 55,000 square-foot facility in Escondido, California. Stone is distributed in 37 states, including Florida. As of 2013, Stone is the 10th largest craft brewery in the United States.

About J. Wakefield Brewing:

J. Wakefiels Brewing is one of Miami’s up-and-coming breweries. JWB is currently under construction in the Wynwood area of Miami, planning on opening in early 2014. Wakefield has made headlines repeatedly, both for his beers and his recent crowdfunding campaign which raised over $100,000.
