On the latest episode of the BeerWise Podcast, editor Mark DeNote talks to Coppertail Brewing owner Kent Bailey about the brewery’s quest for hops, some of the awesome beers the brewery has fermenting, and the origin and state of the brewery’s partnership with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Coppertail Brewing’s beer is available in distribution throughout Florida, but the brewery has many exciting initiatives happening now, including a new sports partnership. While some of the details emerged about Coppertail’s partnership with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this fall, Kent goes into detail about what exactly is involved with their partnership and how the first game with beer in the stadium went. Kent also talks about the special commemorative cans the brewery is making with vintage Buccaneers mascot Bucco Bruce and how their lager Florida Special came to be selected for those cans.
We also taste through several beers Coppertail has in the tank, including a tweak to Florida Special Lager.
Finally, we talk about the Alpha Hunt and Hop Skull Series and how they fit into Coppertail’s quest for the perfect hop blend and usage of new hops.
