Press Release:
Central Florida’s only local, organic microbrewery will commemorate over 200 years of German tradition at their 9th annual Oktoberfest celebration. At 1pm on September 19th, a ceremonial tapping of the brewery’s 2015 organic Oktoberfest märzenbier will commence festivities. The celebration will continue throughout the day with German food, traditional German music by Dan Witucki & Mein Heimatland Musikaten [party polka], general revelry, and of course, beer. The day will also include a 3pm cornhole tournament, the 5pm crowning of Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest, and the 7pm ‘Most Revered Beard.’
For Oktoberfest enthusiasts, Orlando Brewing will release a limited number of 2015 commemorative mugs. This 21oz mug will come with two free fills of Oktoberfest and grant patrons entry into the taproom’s Mug Club. Every Monday, mug owners may fill their glass for the price of a pint. Mugs also entitle pint-priced fills of märzenbier while the year’s supply lasts. Pre-ordered mugs include a free Oktoberfest t-shirt and may be reserved at www.orlandobrewing.com.
Orlando Brewing will continue to celebrate Oktoberfest through October 4th with a series of events. In September they’ll hold an organic barley wine tasting on the 22nd, a Liquid Education Beer School on the 26th & have the Currywurst food truck out for their taproom’s new art show release on the 27th. In October, the company will host a beer dinner on October 3rd before they wrap up the three week festival on October 4th with Barktoberfest, a charity event benefiting the Sniffing Snouts Pit Bull Rescue. Event details and reservations may be found at www.orlandobrewing.com.
