Months ago, Orlando’s Gatlin Hall Brewing Company abruptly closed with a vague notice to say they will reopen at some point. Now, news is emerging of the business that is remodeling and planning to reopen in the space.
Florida Beer News has been contacting Gatlin Hall/ Runabout for several months and has received no response. Based on an article in What Now Orlando, the new Runabout Brewing – Kitchen – Raw Bar will be reopening the space formerly occupied by Gatlin Hall Brewing.
According to the What Now article, “Local brewer Eric Crotty has purchased Gatlin Hall Brewing from Kevin O’Donnell and Mike Brady — a brewery he himself built to begin with.
‘I had worked with the owners back in 2020,’ Crotty said. ‘After an initial period of growth and excitement in the community about the concept — which was a brewery and food hall in one — business began to taper down.’
Since early September, Gatlin Hall Brewing at 4761 S. Orange Ave. has closed its doors for Crotty’s new remodel.”
Runabout Brewing has also taken over Gatlin Hall’s Instagram and posted looking for people to join their team:
We’re hiring! Runabout Brewing-Kitchen-Rawbar is taking over Gatlin Hall Brewing, and we can’t wait to introduce it to the community. Are you a people person with FOH or BOH experience? Message us! Now hiring experienced servers, bar manager, bartenders, line cooks, dish washers, oyster shuckers…
What to expect when Runabout Brewing – Kitchen – Raw Bar opens? “We’re creating a full sit-down restaurant with raw bar featuring oysters, shrimp, stone crab — when in season — and other seasonal seafood. We’ll have a full menu that includes Southern comfort food and pizzas. Menu tastings are scheduled to begin next week to finalize the offerings, which are currently as extensive as Cheesecake Factory, so we have a lot of paring down to do,’ Crotty said to the OBJ.”
More information will be posted as this story develops.
