Orlando Brewing releases Red Riveter on March 21st

Press Release:

Orlando Brewing to tap Red Riveter – the organic brewery’s newest Babes’ Brew Series beer – at 1pm on March 21st in their Downtown South taproom.

Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon, a representation of the WWII era women who stepped into the boots left vacant by deployed American soldiers. Times have changed, but the spirit of Rosie lives on in the Babes’ Brew Series at Orlando Brewing. Quarterly, the Central Florida company’s seven female employees take on the tasks most often completed by the males of Orlando Brewing. The brewery babes draft, craft, filter, label, bottle & keg their brewtiful creations.

Red Riveter is the 4th Babes’ Brew in the series, and a tribute to all things bold yet soft. Red Riveter is a classic American Red ale with rose hips and lavender. The organic herbs were infused to impart light floral and herbal characteristics, and were sourced from local Orlando organics provider, Good Life To Go. Red Riveter is projected to have a 5.7% ABV and 31 IBUs.

Orlando Brewing to release Eve’s Tonic

Press Release:

Orlando Brewing’s latest Babes’ Brew Series beer is to release on New Year’s Eve. Eve’s Tonic is an ode to the “first babe” and her infamous offering. The lady-brewed organic American Strong Ale is oak aged and apple infused. She’s luscious and full bodied with a caramel sweetness upfront and bit of a bite on the finish. Eve’s Tonic will clock in at 9% alcohol by volume and a 67 IBU. Brewed with organic Nugget, Chinook and Cascade hops – and nearly a thousand pounds of organic malted barley – Orlando Brewing will kick start a new year with this original, sinfully good beer.

Eve’s Tonic will be the 3rd beer released in the Central Florida Brewery’s Babes’ Brew Series. The series is drafted and crafted by the ladies of Orlando Brewing and was inspired by the Pink Boots society, a nonprofit encouraging and empowering female professionals in the craft beer industry. The line’s first brew – Chocolate Mint Girl Stout – became the fastest selling beer in Orlando Brewing history.

Eve’s tonic will be available on draft in the Orlando Brewing Taproom. The first keg will be tapped at 3pm on the 31st, happy hour will run from 3pm-6pm, and conclude with a free 6 o’clock brewery tour. Live music performances by The Actomatics and Milka will begin at 9pm and rock ’til 2015.

Orlando Brewing debuts Babes’ Brew Series

Press Release:

Orlando- Orlando’s only local, organic microbrewery will release an organic chocolate mint stout at its on-premise taproom located at 1301 Atlanta Ave. Aptly dubbed Girl Stout, this beer was drafted and crafted by the females of Orlando Brewing (under the guidance of experienced Brewmaster Graeme Lay). Girl Stout is the first beer in Orlando Brewing’s new quarterly Babes’ Brew Series. The Thin Mint inspired brew will be tapped at 1pm on December 14th and all ladies will receive happy hour pricing all day. At 9pm patrons can gather around an Orlando Brewing campfire for a marshmallow roast while listening to the local, live & original soundings of Central Florida’s traditional Irish band, Crooked Road.

Brewery Operations Manager Megan Cheek spearheaded the Babes’ Brew endeavor and is excited for Girl Stout to release. “I’ve worked in the back end of the brewery for almost eight years and am a member of the Pink Boots Society, an international nonprofit created to empower female beer professionals to advance their careers within the industry,” explains Cheek, “I felt it was important to get all the ladies more involved in the brewing process, because beer? It’s not just a “man’s” drink anymore, and I have loved to watch the movement of women getting more involved in educating themselves about craft beer.”

Girl Stout will be available on tap and in bottles at the Orlando Brewing Taproom. Brewed with locally sourced organic cacao nibs and organic peppermint, Girl Stout will have a robust chocolate flavor and the perfect touch of peppermint. The women of Orlando Brewing are already tossing around ideas for next quarters’ brew – maybe a Wit brewed with rose hips, maybe an ale with seasonal fruit from Uncle Matt’s Organic Produce. Only time and a test batch will tell.
