Coppertail Brewing bottles are on Tampa shelves

Coppertail Brewing, Tampa’s newest craft brewery, is now shipping beer.

Well, bottled beer, that is–kegged beer has been in bars and restaurants for a few months now.

Coppertail owner Kent Bailey excitedly announced this weekend: “We just released core 4 six packs (Free Dive, Unholy, Night Swim, and Wheat Stroke) in Tampa. Look for them at Total Wine, ABC, and Craft Beer Cellar. Right now they’re on the Tampa side of the bay only.”

Also available will be Coppertail’s first limited bottle release, a Goji Berry Baltic porter known as “Seasonal Relief.” While the brewery is sold out, limited amounts will be in distribution and should be appearing on Tampa retail shelves today or tomorrow.

"Seasonal Relief" marks Coppertail's first bottle release.

Cycle Brewing taps Hashtag YOLO

Cycle Brewing has managed to give great news, good news, and bad news in the same posting.

The great news is that they have brewed and tapped a delicious sounding Baltic Porter, called Hashtag YOLO. The beer finished at 9% ABV and took 62 days to finish fermenting, so it may never be brewed again.

The good news is that YOLO will go away, but the bad news is that in this case the twitter hashtag will outlive the beer that shares its name. Why call the beer YOLO? According to Cycle, “Why YOLO? 62 days in a tank is 3 times longer than any other beer we make and thus it might only be made once! Full credit for this recipe and execution goes to Eric, pictured majestically as guest bartender yesterday, so stop in at Cycle or down at Peg’s this weekend and give him a high five!”

Cycle Brewing is located at 534 Central Avenue in Saint Petersburg.

Cigar City to release Jurata Baltic Porter

Cigar City’s collaboration beers seem to pour in an eternal stream: they are ever-flowing and there are always more on tap. The latest in Cigar City’s collaboration is a return collaboration with California’s Coronado Brewing, dubbed Jurata and this one is a Baltic Porter.

This Friday, Cigar City will release Jurata at the brewery with the folks from Coronado Brewing in attendance. From CCB’s Facebook page:

Join us and folks from Coronado Brewing as we release bottles of Jurata Baltic Porter, our collaboration brewed out in California.

In addition to bottles, we will also have draft available, plus some other goodies from Coronado on tap as well.

The last Baltic Porter Cigar City brewed was Kalevipoeg, in honor of their 1000th batch of beer.

Cigar City Brewing is located at 3924 West Spruce Street in Tampa.
