Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is thrilled to announce a partnership, or colla-beer-ation, with Big Top Brewing, with the official launch of Finhead Lager, a light beer with a big purpose. Proceeds from every sip benefit Mote and its mission to create a better environment for ourselves and our children through innovative science and education.
Sarasota’s Big Top Brewing has been making some serious moves in the last few months. First the brewery has opened satellite locations around Florida, and now a new acquisition.
It is one year ago this weekend that Big Top Brewing Company of Sarasota opened the doors to their tasting room. To celebrate this milestone, the brewery will have quite a fiesta and all of it in keeping with their circus theme.

I wanted to update you on a party we are having at Big Top Brewing on May 2nd. It will be the 1 year Anniversary party for the tasting room. We will have 16-20 one off beer releases, Blake Wallenda doing a high wire walk, Tigers, aerial acrobats, 75′ waterslide, dunk tank, bounce house, jump shot, cotton candy, snow cones, bbq, BEER, and live music.
Big Top Brewing Company is located at 6111 Porter Way in Sarasota. The first anniversary party will be hosted this Saturday, May 2nd. The trouble starts at 2pm.

For years Brewmaster Josh Wilson has been crafting great beers in Sarasota, Florida and for years his friends have been enjoying his art. It made complete sense to form Big Top Brewing Company to bring those artfully crafted beers to everyone. When we started Big Top Brewing Company, there were no craft breweries in the Sarasota area and we set out to fix that. We have a great town, with a great history, and the only thing missing was that great local beer.
We wanted to compliment Sarasota’s historical associations with The Ringling Circus, performing arts, great architecture, the best art and design schools, and world-renowned tourism. The best way we could do that was to craft beer that our home town can be proud of.

The Cock and Bull Pub in Sarasota is one of the original havens of craft beer in the Sunshine State. The Cock and Bull’s beer list has been the pride of Sarasota since before the craft beer revolution has made it less of a challenge to get good beer. This weekend, The Cock and Bull tied one more onto their beer line: State Fair Stout.
What is State Fair Stout?
State Fair Stout is a collaboration between the Cock and Bull Pub and Sarasota’s Big Top Brewing Company. The flavor combinations emulate a chocolate-covered pretzel. This beer will be available exclusively at The Cock and Bull and Big Top Brewing Company until six-pack cans come out at a later date, according to Cock and Bull’s Facebook page.
Sarasota- Big Top Brewing Company has been sending their beer out to market for several weeks now, and is currently available in select accounts around Sarasota. The brewery posted that they are revving up their commercial brewing system in preparation for the opening of their tasting room:
