Point Ybel Brewing company brews first batches

Southwest Florida is a few steps closer to a new brewery on their doorstep. Point Ybel Brewing Company, a brewery opening in the Point Ybel area of Fort Myers has posted pictures to their Facebook page of beer-making activities at their facility. According to the pictures and posts, the efforts today are going toward brewing Sanibel Red, which according to Point Ybel’s website is a 5% red ale with “[t]oasted malts with a sweet and bready flavor. Has a low hop character. Brewed with local Mangrove honey. Easy to drink.”

While the folks at Point Ybel strayed away from giving an exact opening date, when a local beer enthusiast asked if they were still shooting for mid-October, the brewery responded with a response of “Soon!”

Wynwood Brewing begins brewing

Miami- Much has been ado at Miami’s newest craft brewery, and this week has proved one of the busiest of weeks for the guys in Wynwood.

On August 14th, Wynwood Brewing received their licensure and began brewing beer. Announcement of three core brands: La Rubia Blonde, Pop’s Porter, and Wynwood IPA soon followed. Shortly after that came photos of men sweating in the Miami heat, toiling and boiling to make beer.

Wynwood has previously announced a window of opening time, but no solid date. If the pictures posted are any indication, it looks like the brewery may be on target for those dates.
