Escape Brewing Company to release three cans this week

Best known for their love of hoppy beers, Escape Brewing Company announced in their weekly roundup that fresh cans of their award-winning Other West Coast IPA will be released this week.  In addition to Other West Coast IPA, Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 17th, will see the release of two other beers.

On Wednesday April 17th at 4PM we will have FRESH CANS of The Other West Coast IPA; Juiced Up Sour w/ Passionfruit, Red Dragonfruit, Oranges, & Lemons; and Five Flags Pilsner available in the TAPROOM ONLY.

Founders John and Matt both started brewing beer in their garages as a way to “Escape” from their corporate sales jobs. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that our true passion was making beer. What started off as a hobby in our garages quickly turned to an obsession of making beer…a lot of it. Well, the amount of beer that we could legally make for our own consumption.

We both decided to “Escape” corporate America, quit our day jobs, live the American Dream, and open a brewery. Escape Brewing Company was born out of our passion for great beer, creativity, and for the love of our family.

Cigar City Brewing brings Florida Man Double IPA to cans

Cigar City Brewing recently added a sliver of news to their newsletter: Florida Man, their double IPA named after the imaginary character that gets unique headlines from many news agencies, will soon be coming to cans instead of its previous format of 22-oz bottles.

Who and What is Florida Man?

A clever Twitter user began compiling all the most Florida-worthy headlines in 2013 and attributing them to “the world’s worst superhero, Florida Man”.  What better style of beer to celebrate our unintentional official state animal than a Double IPA?  Big in flavor, bold in bitterness and with an ABV wallop that can’t be ignored, our Florida Man Double IPA has been brewed and adjusted several times to find just the right recipe worthy of our beleaguered hero.  The final recipe includes six different hops sourced from all over the world.  A healthy dose of Simcoe hops adds significant spice and texture while hops with tropical notes like Azacca and Pacific Jade are featured prominently.  A hop bill this hefty requires body and sweetness to bring it into balance, and Florida Man’s malt character handles the job as easily as a gator handles a distracted handler’s finger.

Though we’ve released Florida Man in 22 oz. bottles in the past, this go-around we opted for 12 oz. cans.  Beyond the litany of benefits that aluminum cans offer (recyclability and more stable beer among them), we wanted to put this beer in a container that Florida men and women could bring to a gator farm, an arena football tailgate or any other Florida Man-approved activities.

Look for four pack cans coming soon to stores throughout Florida, but make sure you grab them as soon as you see them; Florida Man will be gone quicker than you can say “malicious arson”.

Central 28 Beer Company to release Deluxe DIPA in cans

DeBary’s Central 28 Beer Company is growing, and they are releasing cans of their Deluxe DIPA soon.

We are very excited to announce Deluxe Double IPA!
So excited that we are going to release a limited number of cans on Friday, July 29th.
You’re going to want to get here early to reserve your 6 pack (limit 4 x 6 packs per person).
Hang out with us and have a Deluxe pint in the taproom.
When you’re ready to go, take your cans with you for the weekend!
These cans will only be available at the brewery. There will be a very limited amount available once we’re out… That’s it!
Vitamina T, Tacos on Wheels will be here too, so come hungry!

What is Deluxe DIPA?
According to Central 28, Deluxe DIPA is a strong, aggressively-hopped American IPA. This intensely hopped ale is loaded with hop flavor and aroma from generous additions of Amarillo, Simcoe, Columbus, and Centennial hops in both the kettle and in dry-hopping. Citrus and piney notes dominate both the flavor and aroma, with a subtle malt underpinning for balance and support. Deluxe is assertively bitter, in order to balance the strength of this big beer, clocking in at 8.8% ABV. Despite the intense flavors and strength, Deluxe is a smooth and superbly drinkable double IPA.

Barley Mow Brewing Company cans The Unkindness

Largo- Barley Mow Brewing Company spent most of their Thursday putting their flagship Black IPA, dubbed The Unkindness, into cans. Barley Mow announces that starting today, Friday afternoon, beginning at 3pm when the brewery opens, cans of The Unkindness will be for sale.

The Unkindness will be $5 for each pint-sized can. The brewery made a run of about 1,000 of these cans.
