Cigar City Brewpub taps new and favorite flavors for Tampa Bay Beer Week

The Cigar City Brewpub brewer Tim Ogen took home three medals this weekend in the Best Florida Beer Competition. As busy as he has been both creatively and laboriously, it is no surprise that Ogden won medals, as he has been kicking out the liquid jams since the CCB Brewpub brought its system online. With added tanks in the pub, Ogden will be able to showcase more of his beer, but for now, Tampa Bay Beer Week is providing Ogden with quite a creative canvas.

Here is the CCB Brewpub‘s contribution to Tampa Bay Beer Week:

Cigar City Brewpub will release Angry Chair collaboration at all-dessert dinner

When the Cigar City Brewpub collaborated with up-and-coming Seminole Heights brewery, Angry Chair Brewing Company and their head brewer Ben Romano, they made a beer called banana cream pie. Then they had a revelation: what better way to release a dessert beer, than with an all-dessert beer dinner?

That dinner will take place Wednesday, September 25th at the CCB Brewpub, and costs $50.

Angry Chair Brewing has been making waves pouring at local festivals, including the recent Tampa Bay Beer Week’s Halfway There Festival. Angry Chair is currently under construction an looking to open in late 2013/ early 2014 in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa. Their head brewer, Ben Romano, made a name for himself as a distinguished homebrewer, then as the pilot brewer at Cigar City Brewing. Ben brews low-gravity Berliner Weisses, high-gravity IPA’s and barleywines, and dessert beers with the same abilities and brings a long record of great beers to Angry Chair, including the other collaboration with Cigar City Brewpub: Coconut Banana Cream Pie Aged in Bourbon Barrels.
