Dunedin Brewery travels to Denver to release collaboration

Like many other craft breweries around the country, Dunedin Brewery is traveling to Denver, Colorado this week. Many are going to mark and participate in the festivities of the Great American Beer Festival. Neither Dunedin Brewery nor their collaborator, Black Shirt Brewing is participating in the festival. They are going to celebrate the release of their collaboration beer: Sangre de la Carretera, a beer brewed on Dunedin’s mobile brewing system while they traveled cross-country on the “FLOregon Trail” to the Portland (Oregon) Brewer’s Festival.

What is Sangre de la Carretera? From the Dunedin Brewery event page:

Brewed with Grapefruit peel, Belgian yeast, & exotic hops–Sangre de la Carretera AKA the Blood of the Road represents everything we went through just to make this beer: 5 weeks of traveling through every type of landscape, every sort of weather & all of the emotions, hardships, & rewards… all found in a road trip.

Neither Dunedin Brewery or Black Shirt will be participating in the Great American Beer Fest, so this will be the place to try brews from both breweries in Denver, CO that weekend.

This beer will be released at Black Shirt Brewing in Denver on Friday, October 11th from 6-10pm.

Cigar City Brewing, AleSmith Brewing to collaborate

Cigar City has announced that they are brewing a collaboration with San Diego’s AleSmith Brewing. AleSmith Brewing is one of San Diego, California’s mainstay breweries and their head brewer has made a cross-country trek to brew with Tampa’s craft brewery. Naturally, two breweries both renowned for world-class imperial stouts, IPAs, and barley wines got together and brewed a Belgian Dubbel.

The beer, dubbed Dubbel Dare, should see bottles and statewide distribution.

From Cigar City:

Ryan Crisp, head brewer at AleSmith Brewing Company out of San Diego, CA … made the cross-country trip to brew a Belgian Dubbel with us. What’s so special about this dubbel is the inclusion of Deglet Noor dates and Black Mission figs. We’re calling it: Dubbel Dare.

AleSmith is a legend in craft beer circles, and we’re completely stoked to collaborate with these guys.

We’re about a month away from this guy hitting bottles, but once it does, expect to see it in the tasting room and across the state of Florida as well!

Cigar City Brewpub Gourds of Thunder, Saint Somewhere collaboration

The Cigar City Brewpub’s brewer Tim Ogden has been working on new beers for the Northdale brewpub since opening earlier this year. Tim’s newest projects received updates this week from the brewpub, and Tim has been keeping busy.

Gourds of Thunder:

What is Gourds of Thunder? We wanted to make a festive ale for the holidays that we could make sessions of starting before Halloween and continuing well past solstice. Something we could pair with ice cream and or chocolate, as well as with a traditional holiday meal, or just by itself. At roughly 6% abv, this is easily a sessionable beer, brewed with chocolate rye, dark chocolate, butternut squash, calabaza, coriander, allspice and other subtle spices, and fermented with the brewpubs house Belgian yeast.

Gourds of Thunder is bottled and currently available at the CCB Brewpub.
