MIA Brewing begins production

Miami’s craft beer scene is about add a new flavor to the palate: MIA Brewing Company of Doral.

MIA Brewing has received a temporary certificate of occupancy for their brewery and has begun making beer. Originally, the brewery had planned to be open in January but was delayed to to a few snags in construction.

According to an article in the Miami New-Times, MIA’s first beers have already been decided:

The first beer to be launched is a hefeweizen, whose initial batches should be ready at the end of August. Most Wanted Beverages, distributor of MIA Brewing, will deliver the beer to at least 30 accounts throughout the city, including Kush, Lokal, Clandestino Pub, the Butcher Shop, and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.

The next beers to follow will be an IPA and then a Kolsch. A stout will be available sometime in October and might be available for Grovetoberfest, Leon says.

MIA Brewing will begin bringing beer to market slowly over the course of the next few months. Owner Eddie Leon says he would like to “distribute to an exclusive list of accounts.”

MIA Brewing is also working on a tap room to serve locals and visitors alike. The goal is to have a 52 tap handles, starting with five to seven pouring after construction is complete.

MIA Brewing is located at 10400 NW 33rd Street in the Doral area of Miami. Construction on their tap room is not yet complete, and their beer is currently slated for production and distribution.
