Grayton Beer Company releases cans of 30A Beach Blonde

Grayton Beer Company recently announced that the beer currently packaged as 30A Beach Blonde Ale is now available in 12 oz. cans as Beach Permit Blonde Ale. Appropriately named, the new aluminum packaging allows the popular local brew to be iced down and taken to the beach.

The shiny new packaging of the blonde ale will be an obvious choice for beachgoers heading to the glass-free beaches. Reminiscent of the permits placed on 4×4 trucks allowed to drive on the beaches in South Walton County, FL, the Beach Permit Blonde Ale will be easily recognizable with the Walton County Beach Permit #26178 on one side and the Grayton Beer Company logo on the other.

“Canning is something we always intended to do at Grayton Beer Company,” said founder Jamey Price. “Our blonde ale was a natural choice to can first, because it is the lightest body beer in our portfolio that we currently have in production. We are excited that all of the local and visiting beachgoers will have a canned option to enjoy from Grayton Beer Company.”

As production is underway, cans will be cooler-ready in time for summer and offered throughout Northwest Florida for the first couple of months, and then throughout Alabama, Georgia and middle Tennessee. For those who prefer glass, Grayton Beer Company’s 30A Beach Blonde Ale will still be available for purchase in 12 oz. bottles.

If Grayton Beer Company beers are just hitting your city – or you have yet to try one – the brewery has a wide assortment of offerings. Restaurants, bars and other retail outlets that would like to offer Grayton Beer should contact Chase Blaich at (850) 865-7019 or email Chase@GraytonBeer.com.

Grayton Beer Company releases new fresh-hop Redneck Rye-viera

Press Release:

Located in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Grayton Beer Company is pleased to announce its newest seasonal harvest ale, Redneck Rye-viera, a limited-release beer which began pouring into retailers, bars and restaurants this week.

With an alcohol by volume (ABV) content of 8.1 percent, the new Redneck Rye-viera beer was crafted with 800 pounds of fresh crystal hops added to three different types of rye. The beer is brewed with Oregon hops that were shipped to Grayton’s home in Northwest Florida for brewing within 24 hours of harvest. The rye spiciness and warming alcohol make the red rye double India Pale Ale (IPA) perfect for cooler winter weather. However, because it is a seasonally brewed harvest ale, it will only be available in bottles and draught for a limited time.

“This harvest ale is a very special red rye double IPA,” says Head Brewer Brad “Shank” Shankwiler. “Getting the hops from Oregon and brewing them within 24 hours while they’re still pure and fresh gives Redneck Rye-viera a distinct floral and aromatic hop profile. Then we add in a robust malt bill and hints of spice from rye malt to provide a truly unique drinking experience that pairs perfectly with cool weather and camp fires. This hop profile is only achievable once a year during the hop harvest, so try it while you can.”

Redneck Rye-viera will be available this week in select locations that carry the South Walton brewery’s other beers. Redneck Rye-viera is also a part of Grayton’s Artist Series, where a portion of the proceeds will go toward art-based initiatives and charities in the Panhandle. Grayton’s Artist Series is a challenge Grayton Beer put out to local artists to design selected labeled beers. The artwork used on the Redneck Rye-viera label was created by Allison Wickey, a South Walton artist who used the trees, blue waters and white sugar-sand beaches to depict the local landscape that is commonly called the Redneck Riviera.

“We live in an area that is rich with artists, photographers and musicians, and we wanted to pay tribute to this by displaying artwork on our bottles in place of a traditional bottle label,” says Grayton Beer Company President Jamey Price. “We’re excited about Redneck Rye-viera and Allison’s artwork and look forward to displaying additional great local artwork on future artist series labels.”

Grayton Beer Company currently offers five other beers in its portfolio of brews that range from an Amber Ale, which carries the name 1890 Founder’s Ale, a Belgian White, or Witbier, named White Dunes, a dry-hopped Pale Ale, and Grayton’s flagship product, an American-Style Kolsch, called Original. The company also produces the 30A Beach Blonde Ale, which incorporates 30A.com’s iconic blue logo.

Grayton Beer Company opens new tap room

Press Release:

Located in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Grayton Beer Company is pleased to announce the completion of the brewery’s new taproom, which opened on Nov. 21. Taproom hours will vary until January, and updates can be found on graytonbeer.com or the brewery’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. A grand opening event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Currently open to the public, the taproom boasts a 40-ft. bar made of recycled wood pallets and 25 taps where customers can enjoy all of Grayton’s unique brews. This includes Grayton’s specialty small-batch beers that are exclusively available in the taproom. The bar will also feature guest taps for other craft beers as well as collaboration beers between Grayton and other local craft breweries.

“Opening a taproom at the brewery has always been part of the vision for us at Grayton Beer Company,” says Jamey Price, president of Grayton Beer Company. “We’re really excited for people to have the opportunity to come experience how we make our beer, meet the characters who brew it and then enjoy the beer itself.”

The taproom is the newest upgrade to Grayton’s 30-barrel brewhouse located at 217 Serenoa Road in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. The 30,000 sq.-ft. brewery features a brand new equipment from Allied Beverage Tank (ABT), a Markyl 125 bottles-per-minute bottling line, a state-of-the-art lab run by a Harvard Ph.D. and over 10,000 barrels of annual production capacity.

“Fortunately the demand for our beer has been so high that we’ve never stopped brewing which delayed the taproom opening,” says Price. “Finally being able to add this new element to the experience of Grayton beer is a great milestone for us.”

Grayton Beer Company releases Gourdgeous

Press Release:

Located in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Grayton Beer Company is pleased to announce its newest seasonal beer, Gourdgeous, a limited-release beer which began pouring into retailers, bars and restaurants this week.

With an alcohol by volume (ABV) content of 5.4 percent, the new Gourdgeous beer was crafted with 300 pounds of fresh pumpkin pulp added to a classic ale base then delicately spiced with fresh ginger root, coriander, allspice and cinnamon sticks.

“This beer is perfectly balanced and will pair well with whatever fall fare you may choose,” says Head Brewer Brad “Shank” Shankwiler, who created the recipe for this beer. “This is one of my favorite recipes, and I look forward to brewing it every fall. I get a lot of people who don’t often like pumpkin beer, but Gourdgeous has light and subtle nuances of pumpkin without the overbearing taste. It was also such a beautiful looking beer, so I decided to call it Gourdgeous.”

Currently in draught in various bars and restaurants, Gourdgeous will also be Grayton’s first brew offered in 22 oz. bomber bottles, which will be available this week in locations that carry the South Walton brewery’s other beers. Gourdgeous will also be the first in Grayton’s “artist series” – a challenge Grayton Beer put out to local artists to design selected 22 oz.-labeled beers. The artwork used was created by Grayton Beer’s own brewer, Tyler White, and is a play on Grayton’s brew system using pumpkins in place of brewing vats. A portion of the proceeds will go toward art-based initiatives and charities in the Panhandle.

“We live in an area that is rich with artists, photographers, and musicians, and we wanted to pay tribute to this by displaying artwork on our larger bottles in place of a traditional bottle label,” says Grayton Beer Company President Jamey Price. “We’re excited about Gourdgeous and the artist series and look forward to displaying additional great local artwork in the future.”

Grayton Beer Company currently offers five other beers in its list of brews that range from the Amber Ale, which carries the name 1890 Founder’s Ale, the Belgian White, or Witbier, named White Dunes, the Pale Ale, Grayton’s flagship product – the Original, to the 30A Beach Blonde Ale, which incorporates 30A.com’s iconic blue logo.
