J. Wakefield Brewing to soft open this weekend

It has been a long time in coming with several teases along the way, but after a successful CrowdBrewed campaign, several months of waiting, and a mural or two, J. Wakefield Brewery announced their soft opening.

Miami’s newest craft brewery will soft open this weekend, alongside another highly anticipated South Florida craft brewery.

From J. Wakefield Brewing’s Facebook page:

We are planning on doing a soft opening of the tasting room this Friday and Saturday. We will give you more information about the hours and such by no later than Wednesday. We will have our 4 flag ship beers on draft Hop for Teacher, UJP, Stush (Straight Berliner), and El Jefe on draft as well as a number of special treatment beers.

J. Wakefield Brewing is located at 120 Northwest 24th Street in the Wynwood area of Miami.

J. Wakefield Brewing hosts pop-up event

J. Wakefield Brewing Company cannot wait to pour their ales for the city of Miami, but they have one problem: their brewery is not open yet. That is not a problem for the brewery- they made a tap list, checked with the city, checked with the attorneys, checked with a local catering company, and found a way to pour their beers at a pop-up event in their brewery’s parking lot. It’s all legal, it’s all good, the only thing that is not guaranteed is how long the beer will last.

The Wakefield Pop Up Event will begin at 3pm on Friday, December 6th at the brewery, located at 120 Northwest 24th Street in Miami. The event will last until midnight. The event will feature 12-15 kegs of Wakefield beer alongside specialty kegs from Stone Brewing and Cycle Brewing, with more taps to be announced later this week. There will be soda, there will be food, there will be water, again the only thing that is not guaranteed is how long the beers will last.

J. Wakefield Brewing breaks fundraising record

Miami- Brewer Johnathan Wakefield just finished one of the most successful online fundraising campaigns for a brewery, closing his Crowdbrewed.com campaign this week.

In the end, Mr. Wakefield raised $111,990 to start J. Wakefield Brewing.

Thanks to the help from some industry friends like Cigar City Brewing, Evil Twin Brewing, along with several Miami chefs, and a promised reserve society, Wakefield broke his initial fundraising goal of $55,000 just 26 hours after beginning his push for funds.

Congratulations to Johnathan Wakefield, the Where’s Waldo of Florida craft beer.
