Green Room Brewing is celebrating Jax Beer Week with bottle releases

Green Room Brewing of Jacksonville Beach is marking this year’s Jax Beer Week, going on now, with a week’s worth of bottle releases.  The brewery is normally closed on Mondays, so the first bottle release will drop today.

From Green Room Brewing:

The next series of beers are all being released for Jax Beer Week. The first is Yates Manifesto. Yates Manifesto is an imperial stout and will be released on September 20th at 4 PM and will also be available in limited amounts in the bottle. This beer is the base for the series. A quick history of the name of this beer: Yates Manifesto was the document signed in 1965 that consolidated the government in Jacksonville in an attempt to cut down on the opportunity for corruption. When it went into effect in 1968 Jacksonville become the largest city, by population, in Florida and the 13th largest in the U.S. All land in Duval County is considered part of Jacksonville except Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Baldwin.

E15 Chupacabra

In the same newsletter, Engine 15 gives a small update on the progress of their downtown location:

The Downtown location re-zoning is moving along. This Thursday, June 9th our application goes before the Planning Commission. The Planning commission will review the application and determine if the proposed use is consistent with the city’s 2030 Comprehensive plan. We believe it is and hopefully the Commission will agree and recommend for approval.

Later this month on June 21st our application is scheduled to be reviewed by Land Use and Zoning. Once both of these are reviewed and depending on their particular recommendations and comments, we will have more information on the progress. So wish us well and we will update everyone with more information later in the month.

Engine 15 to add arcade to taproom

That’s right. Engine 15 of Jacksonville has announced that soon there will be an “old-school” arcade as part of their taproom.

From the Engine 15 newsletter:

Welcome back to your childhood
We’ve cleared out space in the back of the brewery and what better to do with it than turn it into an old school arcade. Because you didn’t already love our tap room enough.

The first games to arrive will be Galaga, Defender, Space Invaders, Ms Pac-Man, Centipede and SkeeBall that – what for it – spits out FREE beer tickets! Seriously.

We have gotten A LOT of feedback through social media on other games you’d like to see and we do have room for a few more so we will tally the votes and surprise you with a few more.

The space is finished and the games are due to arrive at the end of the week so get ready to get your 80’s on! Feel free to start growing your Tom Selleck mustache and wing your hair.

Engine 15 “is finally alive” on Myrtle Street

Engine 15 Brewing Company of Jacksonville Beach has been working diligently to build their new production brewery in the La Villa section of Jacksonville. Well, like Doctor Frankenstein amazed by his creation, co-owners and brewers Luciano Scremin and Sean Bielman posted a video of them standing next to the brewhouse of their Myrtle Street facility and simply saying, “It’s finally alive” as steam poured out of the brewkettle.

Congratulations to Engine 15 on this latest milestone. More information to come, as it is released.
