JDub’s Brewing to begin Indiana distribution

The Sarasota-based craft brewery JDub’s Brewing, who announced plans to distribute their brews to Indiana in April, will launch their beers throughout the state during the week of June 15. Several launch events are planned on Thursday, June 18, at 8 p.m. and will include a live online toast at 9 p.m. by founder Jeremy Joerger from the brewery’s taproom in Sarasota. The toast will be distributed on social media.

Initially, draught-only versions of JDub’s core beers, Up Top! IPA, an American IPA, which was recently featured in All About Beer Magazine, and Poolside Kolsch, will be sold in Indiana. However, JDub’s plans to send a limited amount of the brewery’s production beers to Indiana, beginning with a ginger wheat beer brewed with black pepper, which will be available in late June. JDub’s has partnered with Indianapolis-based Cavalier Distributing as their distributor for the state.

“I can’t wait to get our beers into the hands of folks from Indiana, some of whom may have visited us while vacationing in our beautiful city in the past,” says Joerger.

JDub’s Brewing to host hot dog contest

The folks at JDub’s Brewing have teamed up with Boar’s Head Meats to host the first ever “Soon to be relatively famous hopefully annual hot dog eating contest” on May 23, 2015 at 3pm. There will be a men and women’s category. Each will be given 10 minutes to eat as many hot dogs as possible. The winner of each will receive $200 cash as well as a $50 bar tab. Contestants can sign up in the taproom or over the phone during taproom operating hours. Morgan’s canteen food truck and a DJ will be on-site throughout the day. Said JDub’s taproom manager Brian “BK” Klimek, “It’s about being fun and not taking life too seriously! Because that’s what we like to do!” BK, AKA “Tugboat”, will serve as the emcee for the event.

JDub’s Brewing Company keeps running cans of Up Top! IPA

JDub’s Brewing Company of Sarasota is working hard to realize their vision of becoming Sarasota’s production brewery. Sunday, May 18th the brewery did another run of their Up Top! IPA in cans.

The IPA, once canned, was about 6 hours old. Since IPAs are best enjoyed fresh, the IPA from JDub’s is about as fresh as possible.

JDub’s Brewing Company is located at 1215 Mango Avenue in Sarasota.

Jdub’s Brewing of Sarasota has a lot to celebrate. Since their opening in February, JDub’s has collaborated, crafted the pillar of their core lineup (Up Top! IPA), and continuously added new beers to their tap room.

Now, Jdub’s is making a big move and canning their Up Top! IPA for Sarasota and Manatee counties.

According to a statement from JDub’s owner Jeremy Joerger, “I’m amped to tell you that as early as next week, Up Top! will be available in cans in select stores, primarily in the Sarasota and Manatee counties (for now).”

More info on Jdubs/ Three Palms collaboration

Recently, we announced that Sarasota’s Jdub’s Brewing and Brandon’s Three Palms Brewing were going to collaborate on two beers. Three Palms has given out some information on the beers and their release:

Smoked Cherry Sour Saison
A Three Palms and JDub’s collaboration brew. A delicate blend of a cherry berliner wiess with a unique smoked saison, both brewed with the intentions to be married into this final product. The final creation gives a multitude of flavors and aromas that come together to create this special brew. Smoke, cherries, slightly sour from the berliner and the unique yeast characteristics of a saison.

Three Palms Brewing is located at 1509 Hobbs Street in the Brandon area of Tampa, and will be pouring the Smoked Cherry Sour Saison at 7pm on Friday, December 27th.
