In this episode, I am joined by Jim & Brittney Barrie of Barriehaus Beer Company.

Barriehaus Beer Company is a lager-focused brewery in the heart of Tampa Bay, located one block off of 7th Avenue in Ybor City and 5 minutes away from some of Tampa’s premiere breweries and meaderies. Barriehaus Beer Company has made a name for themselves by focusing their energies and their tap list almost exclusively on lagers.

After each episode is recorded, we ask guests which brewery they would like to see interviewed on the podcast. Barriehaus Beer Company has been one of the most-suggested breweries for the podcast since it was launched in October of 2020.

In this interview, Jim and Brittney talk about the formation of the brewery and Jim’s unique history with lager brewing as a fourth-generation brewer following in the steps of his family. Jim and Brittney are forthcoming about why they chose to open a brewery in Tampa, what continues to inspire them and what happens when their brewing dreams ran headlong into the COVID-19 pandemic.
