Lake Tribe Brewing to release new Wildwoods Series beer

As the Tallahassee craft beer scene continues to evolve, the folks at Lake Tribe Brewing continue to push the boundaries of flavor in sour beer with their Wildwoods Project Series of beers.  The latest release in the series will be available in bottles on October 25th.

From Lake Tribe Brewing:

The next Wildwoods release is ready

‘Walk through the wild tropical floral hibiscus tea flavor from the good people of Tallahassee Tea Company, and onward through the sweet, juicy nectar by our friends at Florida Georgia Citrus and fresh local grapefruit from our backyard. Sweet, woodsy undertones from the apple brandy barrels with the budding of local collaboration in this wild ale makes for a flavor in full bloom.”

This is our second “Flora Bloom” experiment for the Wildwoods Project and this year’s version has evolved with even more complexity. On top of the hibiscus and satsuma flavors of last year, it has blossomed into a full flower with honey and grapefruit notes to enhance and balance out the pedals of floral, citrus, and tartness. A true generational evolution to one of the favorites to last year’s Wildwoods Project II. American Wild Ale with grapefruit, Satsuma oranges, honey, hibiscus tea, and aged in an apple brandy barrel.

As a part of this day, we will be celebrating with Tallahassee’s hottest food truck Pineappetit at 4pm and Tallahassee’s most R&B drumming lead band Moove at 6:30pm!

What is the Wildwoods Project?

The Wildwoods Project started as a concept recipe for a wild ale (“Wild”) aged on oak barrels (“Woods”) that the Lake Tribe team turned into an ongoing flavor experiment using different barrel rinses and fresh, locally sourced ingredients (“Project”) for a series of very unique, locally handcrafted wild ales. “Wildwoods Project Vol. III” will feature 8 different American wild ales including 4 returning crowd favorites from our 2018 Volume Il release, as well as 4 all new recipes including collaborations with Florida Georgia Citrus, Tallahassee Tea Company, Red Eye Coffee, Geiger Family Farm, and Tallahassee Farmers Market. This year we have sourced eight barrel varieties of American whiskey, American rye, brandy, French oak cabernet sauvignon, port, and tequila that will be filled with meticulously designed beers to be aged within. Each and every one of the “Wild Woods” wild ales are one-of-a-kind experiences that

About Lake Tribe Brewing
The humble beginnings of Lake Tribe Brewing date back to circa 2010. Founder and Head Brewer Jesse Ross, Mechanical Engineer, amateur chef, and craft beer enthusiast wanted to try his hand at ‘the ultimate craft’. The self-taught homebrewer with a strong background in science, engineering, and culinary arts started out with one simple goal. To explore the vast art of fermentation, and have some fun along the way.

Our motif, the fire, represents our passion. Whether it is the spark of an idea for a new beer to craft or the warmth of good company, it all comes down to our favorite escape from everyday life– gathering around a campfire with our loved ones and drinking a tasty cold beer.

Lake Tribe In the Hopper Pils

In the Hopper Pilsner:  a light crisp pilsner to be enjoyed on this grand occasion. What makes this pilsner special? We found the perfect site for a pack full of citrusy hops to seek shelter. While the bitterness is kept in check, make no mis’stake’, the flavor, and aroma of this special beer are ‘In Tents’, so take cover!

Lake Tribe Well Behaved Wheat

Beckster’s ‘Wh’ell Behaved ‘Wh’eat ‘Satsuma Edition’: This special release spin on our citrusy hopped wheat infuses locally farm grown Satsuma oranges for smooth citrusy tang that will make your taste buds line dance!  This will be 1 of 3 craft offerings released Saturday in collaboration with local Florida & Georgia orange growers, Bethel Oaks Farms.  The amazing folks from Bethel Oaks Farm will be joining us for the festivities to talk about the craft of local orange growing, and providing samples of their heavenly juice!

Lake Tribe Satsuma Orange Shandy

SOS – Satsuma Orange Shandy: What’s a shandy? Its a beer mixed with a soft drink. For our 2nd collaboration with Florida Georgia Citrus we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a dandy shandy using the sweet orange nectar grown right here in our home state. While most shandys have the soft drink added after fermentation, we added ours during. The result? A dry, tart beacon of hope perfect for times of distress! Pouring Saturday, if you find yourself up a creek without a paddle!
