Motorworks Brewing details new fall releases

Motorworks Brewing of Bradenton and most recently their second location now open in Orlando, tells about all of their newest fall beers in the latest edition of their newsletter.
When we read yesterday that Bradenton’s Motorworks Brewing Company had plans to move into the former Orange County Brewers location in downtown Orlando, we reached out to Motorworks Brewing’s Director of Sales & Marketing Barry Elwonger for more information about the brewery’s second location.
Motorworks Brewing has been searching for a second location for a while now, Barry confirmed – about three years. When this location opened up, it was already built as a brewery and unlike other spaces, the Orange Avenue space would require little construction to allow brewing operations to commence.
“As a craft beer market, Orlando is underserved per capita,” Barry says. “We know that the area has 20-25 breweries, but some of them are neighborhood breweries and some are nano-sized. This location had all of the boxes checked off for us, and when we looked at the space on Orange Avenue, we knew that this would be our second home.”
Barry says that this new Orlando location is special project for him – he is a UCF alumnus who has been wanting to make beer for his alma mater’s market for some time.
At first, the majority of the beer for Orlando’s Motorworks Brewing will come from the Bradenton brewery, especially core Motorworks beers, Barry asserts. “In time there are plans to hire a pilot brewer to use the seven-barrel brewing system to help fill Orange Avenue Motorworks Brewing’s 30 taps. The taps will be Motorworks beers almost exclusively.” Initially, the brew crew from Bradenton will run operations, eventually turning them over to a local brewer.
Unlike Motorworks Bradenton, the Orlando location will feature a coffee roastery, too. Motorworks Bradenton doesn’t have the foot traffic or the easy way in and out to support morning coffee business, but Orange Avenue Motorworks will use its downtown location to serve coffee roasted onsite.
“We see a lot of opportunity in the marketplace coming from our Orlando location,” Barry says. “We are closed to the Amway Center, the Citrus Bowl, downtown Orlando nightlife, and not far from the University of Central Florida. We couldn’t be happier with this new spot.”

Motorworks Brewing of Bradenton seems to have a deep well of beer ideas, and they keep cranking out the bottle releases. Their latest release, Therianthropy American Wild Ale, will be available in bottles beginning on Wednesday, August 7th.
From Motorworks Brewing:
Therianthropy—the mythological ability of humans to metamorphose into animals by means of shapeshifting—is the next installment in our American Wild Ale series. Therianthropy is a Scottish-style ale brewed with Golden Promise malt and soured in oak barrels.
When we removed La Couronne Sauvage—our first foray into the world of mixed culture beer—from barrels after six months of aging, our brewers were curious to see how the souring bacteria would assert itself in a small batch of Scottish Ale (the base beer for our Lavender Ale that was yet to be dosed).
After being inoculated in the selfsame barrels and aged for several months, our mixed culture imparted tart, fruity flavors evocative of dried stone fruit that wonderfully complement its smooth, sweet malt base, building a flavor profile not unlike a Flanders Red Ale. Throughout its phases and fluctuations, this beer is the finished product of an experiment gone wonderfully right.
Packaged July 12th, 2019 in 750ml corked & capped bottles ($18/per) and available exclusively in the Taproom on August 7th.

Motorworks Brewing Company of Bradenton, like many Tampa area craft breweries, is celebrating Halloween by giving people a reason to come out and show off their costumes and festive spirit. But there is more than just a Halloween party here, as the brewery is also having a bottle release for two of their beers.

Kick off your Halloween weekend with two taproom-exclusive bottle releases:
Chocolate Datil Pepper Imperial Porter | Morita Tequila Imperial Amber Ale
Get in the Halloween / Dia de los Muertos spirit with this dark and dastardly Imperial Porter & wickedly spicy Imperial Amber.
Bottles are 22oz. and will be $15 per bottle. Check our Facebook event over the next week as we reveal the full label artwork piece by piece.
About these beers:
Datil Pepper Chocolate Imperial Porter:
This unique brew has huge chocolate notes on the nose, with a subtle fruity sweet heat present from fresh Datil Peppers used in the brew. It features a dark brownish black color. Cacao powder gives this brew full bittersweet chocolate flavor, with a mouth coating medium-full body. Intense heat from the Datil Peppers builds with each sip. Fiery and not for the faint of heart. (2016 U.S. Open Beer Championships Gold Medalist)
Morita Tequila Imperial Amber Ale:
Auburn in color, with a full body, aromas of dried chili peppers and fruity dried cherry esters, with a mild malty sweetness. The Morita Pepper imparts a noticeable, yet not overpowering spiciness and smokiness to the brew. The tequila soaked Mesquite wood chips add a subtle sweetness in the finish.
