Tampa Bay Brewing Company to add Boston distribution

Tampa Bay Brewing Company (TBBC), one of the oldest breweries in the state of Florida posted this morning that the brewery will join the list of Florida craft breweries sending beer outside of the Sunshine State.

From Tampa Bay Brewing Company:

HELLO BOSTON! – We’ve got some pretty damn exciting news to share. Before the end of August you’ll be able to find us on tap and in package in select locations. Yup, you read that right.. Seems Reef Donkey can fly, who knew?!

This is our first foray out of our home state of Florida, and we can’t be happier to bring a selection of our beers to a few premium retailers around metro Boston. Huge thanks to our friends at @nsdistro for the incredible help with this initial test away from home!

Why Boston? Well we have a lot of friends in the local brewing community and have long witnessed the connection between Florida and Massachusetts (in fact greater New England and NY for that matter). Now we can respond “yes” to at least a few of those weekly inquiries.

What beers you ask? Well, Reef Donkey of course, but in our first limited shipment you’ll also find our new Hop Silo 7 hazy DDH pale ale (Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe) brewed in collaboration with our south Florida friends from @invasivespeciesbrewing, and likely a few other limited edition beers, like our award-winning Gourds Gone Wild.

Many more details to come, so please stay tuned! One thing we can share is that THE very first tap event will be held with our close friends at @almanove , Chef Paul Wahlberg’s waterfront restaurant in Hingham Shipyard, just steps from the @mbtapics ferry to Rowe’s and Long Wharves.

About Tampa Bay Brewing Company

Established in 1995, TBBC has played a fundamental role in shaping the landscape of the Florida craft beer scene. We specialize in brewing flavorful and hop-centric IPAs, APAs, expressive sours, and juicy, fruit-forward Florida-weisse.
We operate two breweries; our original 10BBL brewery in historic Ybor City where we focus on small batch and limited releases and a 30BBL production brewery in northwest Tampa with the capability of producing and packaging up to 30,000 barrels per year. Both locations are open 7 days a week and feature a taproom, outdoor patio, and restaurants that utilize fresh and local ingredients to create menu items that accentuate our beers.
Ultimately, we are on a simple mission to have fun and brew beer that we love to drink – and hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Clown Shoes Beer is coming to South Florida

Press Release: Clown Shoes Beer out of Burlington Massachusetts has opened up distribution in South Florida with Crafty Connoisseurs Distributing, as of mid-November.  Approaching their 7 year anniversary this December, Clown Shoes is known for its unique and unconventional approach to craft beer, as well as their comic book style artwork and sense of humor. With beer styles such as their Mangö Kölsch (a light, crisp Kölsch brewed with mango), Chocolate Sombrero (a “Mexican style chocolate stout” brewed with vanilla, cinnamon, and ancho chiles) and Undead Party Crasher (a 10% imperial oatmeal milk stout brewed with smoked malts), their approach has been to
brew traditional beer styles with unique twists. Their beers are currently being brewed in Ipswich, Massachusetts and they have distribution in over 25 states.

“We’ve had our eye on Florida for quite some time now” says Director of Operations Matt Smith. “A few years ago, we had exclusive distribution through the Total Wine retail chain, but now we’ve opened up distribution with Crafty Connoisseurs Distributing in the southern part of the state because we wanted more access to draft lines and other retail outlets. Crafty is a great fit for us because of their dedication to craft beer and focus on the high-quality brands they distribute.”

“We could not be more excited to partner up with such an outstanding brewery like Clown Shoes” – said Jonathan Myer Sales Manager of Crafty Connoisseurs Distributing
“Their attention to producing only high quality beers mirrors our companies philosophy of doing business. We pride ourselves on only carrying TRUE craft brands that we
would drink ourselves and feel we have the obligation to bring South Florida that alone…” Look for Clown Shoes beers to start hitting your favorite craft beer store as
well as on tap at select locations starting next week. Also be on the look out for tap takeovers, pint nights and in-store tastings to kick off the launch of this amazing
brewery.”

Clown Shoes is approaching their 7 year anniversary this December and currently brews 10 year-round beer styles, and has an extensive array of barrel-aged and limited release offerings as well.

Forbidden Root Logo

Forbidden Root Brewery is coming to Florida

Press Release: Forbidden Root Brewery of Chicago announces partnership with Cavalier Distributing. Forbidden Root will be available through Cavalier Distributing in Florida in early 2017.

Bark, stems, flowers, herbs, spices, leaves, roots, and other foraged flavors have long been part of beer, but botanic brews in America were displaced by carbonated sodas in the early 20th century. At Forbidden Root, this early brewing tradition has been a springboard for great creativity and exploration. “We didn’t invent botanic beer, we simply embraced it,” says Director of Sales Lincoln Anderson.

Forbidden Root Brewery’s rapid growth is indicative of the quality and original beer they are producing. Forbidden Root will be offering their core lineup of brews in Ohio including:

Money on My Rind – A 5% ABV witbier spiked with juniper berries and the deliciousness of pure grapefruit, with peppery grains of paradise;
Sublime Ginger – A 3.8% ABV dry and creamy wheat beer with a splash of fresh key lime juice, a delicious bite of ginger, honeybush, and lemon myrtle; and
Wildflower Pale Ale (WPA) – A 5.6% pale ale with refreshing hop aroma and citrusy character with the subtle addition of elderflower, marigold, and sweet Osmanthus flowers.

Founded by Robert Finkel, Forbidden Root is a benefit corporation, meaning benefits, other than shareholder value, are built into their operating charter. They donate 100% of all non-consumable merchandise profits to charity. Craft Beer guru Randy Mosher is an equity partner and serves on the Forbidden team as Alchemist. Playalinda Brewing is sending beers into distribution

Less than two weeks away from their second anniversary party, Playalinda Brewing has announced that they have signed a statewide distribution agreement. Previously, Playalinda beers were not widely available, but much of that was slated to change with the addition of The Brix Project.

From Playalinda Brewing:

Playalinda beer into distribution

Playalinda Brewing is beyond excited to announce our beer will now be available in exceptional establishments across Florida! We’ve proudly partnered with Cavalier Distributing, and are absolutely thrilled to share our love of the craft with beer enthusiasts across the Sunshine State!

About Playalinda Brewing
Born in an old hardware store in the downtown historic district of Titusville (and with a second location now open), Playalinda Brewing Company crafts quality beer that meets the highest industry standards while pushing the most seasoned palates into sensory overdrive.

Named after The Space City’s go-to beach, Playalinda Brewing’s tasting room lends a laid back atmosphere (just far enough away from the bare-it-all beachgoers) where you can meet old friends and easily make new ones.

At our helm is Brewmaster and Certified Cicerone Ron Raike, who has spent the past three decades advancing the Florida craft beer movement. In addition to his expertise in producing unique, small batch beers, Ron is also lauded for his dry wit and knack for coupling odd ingredients to yield funky-fresh category-changing beers.

Whether you are imbibing on a pint of house-brewed frothy goodness, whetting your whistle with a pour from a featured guest tap, or taking flight with our seasonally-rotating beers, one thing is blissfully obvious about our craft: It’s distinctively refined and hard to define.
