Big Storm Brewing announces the release of 2017’s Valentine’s Day beer

Press Release: Big Storm Brewing Co passionately announces the release of their annual Valentine’s offering, “Lie To Me” Imperial Chocolate Cherry Stout. This extremely limited beer will be available on draft and in 750 ml bombers Feb. 11 in both of Big Storm’s taprooms.

Big Storm Lie To Me “The 2016 release of “Lie To Me,” was so successful last year that we produced more this time,” said founder Mike Bishop. “We had a line waiting at the door when the taprooms opened at 11 a.m. and sold out within an hour,” he continued.

Made with cocoa nibs and cherry puree, the popularity of this stout is due to the higher ABV (11%), and balance of the fruity tang against the velvety chocolate sweetness. The female personality of the beer is evident as her aroma is chocolate candy, which is second only to roses on the best seller list around Valentine’s Day. The flavor profile on the bottle’s label describes the beer as if talking about a woman.

“She will make you stout promises, but will be gone in a heartbeat. She is full bodied (in all the right places), and meant to be savored slowly. Her perfume of bittersweet chocolate and subtle fruit will tickle your senses. Complex and creamy, she leaves a delicate lace on the glass after each sip. You will fall victim to her cherry tang that balances her velvet cocoa sweetness. Don’t delay – she is smooth, malty and only here for Valentine’s Day.”

Big Storm who is known for suggesting food pairings on their packaging, lists that there are no pairings because “she” (the beer), doesn’t like competition. Apparently, she is the jealous type.

Big Storm Brewing Company announces new head brewer

Press Release: Big Storm Brewing Company is pleased to announce that Joel Moore has been promoted to Head Brewer of all brewing operations. Big Storm Brewing has new brewer and additional location

Big Storm Brewing Company has been just that- a storm of activity. First canning two core beers, then winning a few awards at Best Florida Beer Competition, then hiring a new brewer, now Pasco County’s first craft brewery is opening a second location in Pinellas County.

From Big Storm CEO Mike Bishop:

The Pinellas location will actually be a second location, we plan on moving our current facility in pasco to the other side of the industrial park for more space.

Combine this new facility with news in a recent Tampa Bay Business Journal post about a new brewer coming to work at Big Storm, brewer Dan Sartin, a cofounder of Service Brewing Company in Savannah, Georgia.

About Big Storm Brewing Company:

Way back in 2012, this crazy beer venture began with a few pennies and a lot of inspiration. Mike Bishop and Clay Yarn recognized a void in Tampa Bay and desired to fill it with quality, approachable craft beer.
What started as a small 3.5 BBL brewhouse is now nearly 5 times the size with a 15 BBL system and the capacity to brew between 800 and 1200 kegs per month. The local taste of Tampa Bay is now shared on tap from the Keys to the Panhandle, and our new canning line just hit the shelves!

Our brew team is a tightly knit family that shares a passion for bringing great beers to the consumer, whether you are a veteran or a newcomer to the craft beer scene. We pride ourselves on not only the great beer we serve, but also on the level of service we provide. The Big Storm Brewing Co. taproom is a community where all are welcome to have a pint, fill a growler, and enjoy a little escape from life.

Big Storm Brewing is located at 2438 Merchant Drive in Odessa.

Big Storm Brewing moves to cover Florida

What started out as two USF alumni beginning Pasco County’s first craft brewery has now escalated into an operation looking to distribute beer to the entire state of Florida.

Big Storm Brewing Company recently told the world that they were going into distribution in South Florida–when asked for comment, Big Storm’s General Manager Lee Northcutt went into a bit more detail saying:

We have recently opened up all of South Florida for distribution. We have also opened up Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Ocala and Lakeland as well. In the next few weeks we are scheduled to meet with Daytona and Pensacola, and should have the whole state covered very soon.
