3 Daughters Brewing releases Oktoberfest Marzen

Press Release: As the fest season approaches, 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Petersburg announced the release of its Oktoberfest beer this week, a festbier brewed in honor of the Bavarian celebration of beer. Crafted in the traditional German fashion with all noble hops, the Marzen-style amber lager is an easy-drinking beer with a lighter body, some bready sweetness, and relatively little hoppiness.

Saint Arnold Brewing introduces two new beers to cans

Press Release: With sales of its canned beers doubling during the past six months, Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, is expanding its canning program to include two additional year-round brews. Six-packs of 12-ounce cans of Saint Arnold Weedwacker and four-packs of 12-ounce cans of Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA are arriving in stores this week.

Saint Arnold introduced cans about 18 months ago with its top selling year-round beers, Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer and Santo joining the Houston brewery’s rotating seasonals. When Saint Arnold introduced Art Car IPA and Saint Arnold 5 O’Clock Pils last year, both were launched in cans rather than bottles. During the past six months, Saint Arnold’s canned beer sales have jumped 110 percent, with cans making up nearly one third of Saint Arnold’s total packaged beer sales.

“There are a lot of things to like about cans – they are easy to carry to the beach and the pool, won’t break, they protect beer from light and are easy to recycle,” said Brock Wagner. “I have to admit that I used to be among those who viewed craft beer in cans with some skepticism, but the level of community acceptance and enthusiasm for cans has made a believer out of me.”

Also arriving in stores, restaurants and pubs throughout Texas, Louisiana and Florida are cans of Saint Arnold Oktoberfest, which is replacing dwindling supplies of Saint Arnold Summer Pils. Each of the new cans features the updated and refreshed Saint Arnold label art introduced earlier this summer.

Saint Arnold Weedwacker has won a medal at the Great American Beer Festival in the German-Style Wheat Ale category for the past three years running – including a Gold Medal in 2015. Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA was originally brought to market as Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 11. It won the Silver Medal in the highly competitive Imperial IPA category at the 2012 World Beer Cup. Saint Arnold Oktoberfest is a 3-time medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in the Scottish-Style Ale category.

The new cans of Saint Arnold Weedwacker and Saint Arnold Endeavour Double IPA will phase out 12-ounce bottles. Endeavour will still be available in 22-ounce bottles and both beers will still be available on tap.

Orlando Brewing Celebrates Oktoberfest

Press Release:

Orlando’s only local, organic microbrewery to commemorate over 200 years of German tradition with an 8th annual Oktoberfest celebration. At 1pm on September 20th a tribute to the Bavarian festival will commence with the ceremonial tapping of the brewery’s 2014 organic Oktoberfest bier. The celebration will continue all day with German food by Vital Flair Catering, a 3pm Cornhole tournament, traditional German music by Dan Witucki & Mein Heimatland Musikaten beginning at 4pm, and 17 taps of their local, organic beer, 16 of which were brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot.
While ‘Reinheitsgebot’ may be difficult to pronounce, the concept is simple. This 1516 German Purity Law decrees that beer is to be brewed with three ingredients: water, hops, and malted barley — no additives, no adjuncts. The law was later revised to include a vital ingredient, yeast, after its 1857 discovery. Orlando Brewing provides Central Florida with many beers brewed in accordance with this time-tested tradition, and Oktoberfest is no exception.

This organic marzen bier was brewed with deep-well, charcoal-filtered hard water from the Floridan aquifer, lager yeast, organic Hallertau hops and organic two-row Munich, Carapils and Caramel malted barleys. The result is Oktoberfest, a medium bodied European amber lager with deep, rich malt character. It begins with an initial malty sweetness and finishes moderately dry with low hop bitterness.

Orlando Brewing will release a limited number of 2014 commemorative mugs. The 24oz mug will bear this year’s Orlando Brewing Oktoberfest logo, come with two free fills of Oktoberfest bier and grant entry into the taproom’s Mug Monday. Every Monday Oktoberfest mug owners may fill their 24 oz mug for the price of a pint. The mug also entitles $5 fills of Oktoberfest beer from September 20th to October 13th, while supplies last. Patrons are encouraged to preorder their $25 mug, as supplies are limited, and all preordered mugs will come with a free 2014 Oktoberfest shirt.
Orlando Brewing will continue to celebrate Oktoberfest through October 13th with a series of events.

About Orlando Brewing:
