Fat Point Brewing announces first bottle release

Fat Point Brewing of Punta Gorda is set for their first ever bottle release.

The Southwest Florida craft brewery will make available bottles of their Cherry Chocolate Quadruple- a Belgian quadruple flavored with natural cherries and chocolate- clocking in at 12.5% alcohol.

From Fat Point’s event page:

This brew has been brewed, bottled, corked and labeled completely by our brewers’ hands. Bottled in 750ml champagne bottles, this quad perfect for sharing on special occasions or aging for a later date.

Only 300 bottles were filled. Several cases have been reserved for our cellar and we’re offering the remaining 276 bottles to our friends and fans. Each bottle is hand numbered by our brew team.

Bottles will go on sale January 10th, at 12:00pm on our online store.

Due to the limited number of bottles we’re offering, sales will be limited to two bottles person.

Purchased bottles will be available to be picked up at Fat Point Brewing on January 17th at 5:00pm. Bottles will cost $13.99 each.

Fat Point Brewing IPA release sells out

Fat Point Brewing Company, Punta Gorda’s craft brewery definitely has a good thing brewing. And like news of a great beer, word of mouth carries a long way. Amplify that with the fact that this is Punta Gorda’s first local brewery and anticipation of opening reaches an almost fever pitch.

When Fat Point announced that the brewery was hosting a release party for their Ryeght Angle IPA, tickets were posted online. Within 72 hours, the party was sold out.

The event, taking place this Saturday, August 16th, will be part of a series of events designed to make the public aware of the kinds of beers Fat Point is looking to pour.

From Fat Point’s Facebook page:

SOLD OUT – Over 200 tickets for our Ryeght Angle IPA Release Party sold out in under 72 hours. We truly appreciate the support and are looking forward to an awesome event. Unfortunately, the sellout means we won’t be selling tickets at the event. See you Saturday!

Fat Point Brewing Company: events and closer to opening

The folks at Fat Point Brewing Company, Punta Gorda’s future craft brewery, are pounding pavement to give people the good beer news that Punta Gorda will soon have a craft brewery. If that wasn’t reason enough for Southwest Florida celebration, then the upcoming preview events might be.

From Fat Point’s blog:

*After testing and cleaning all of next week, we’re brewing our first large scale batch on June 24th with successive brews each of the following two days. We’re going to brew 60BBLs that first week – or close to 2000 gallons of Fat Point beer.

*We worked with Executive Chef Jason Van Marter from Opus restuarant in Punta Gorda to plan our next event there. On June 29th, we’re going to have our Beer Brunch tasting including interesting twists on old favorites such as beer mimosas, micheladas (bloody beers), a Belgian strong ale and even a one-of-a-kind brew just for this event. Our team brewed a stout infused with cinnamon, allspice and coffee for this event!

*We hope to open our tap room in early August.
