“Sabotage is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed with cacao nibs and cascara, the cherry-like fruit of the coffee plant. It’s aged on coffee beans, and clocks in at a formidable 11% Alcohol. Dark fruit, cocoa and coffee flavors intermingle in this rich and surprisingly smooth stout. Big on flavor yet dangerously drinkable.” – Kent Bailey, Founder of Coppertail Brewing.
“We’ve been wanting to brew a RIS at Coppertail for a while. Josh and I were talking about a bunch of different ideas and kept coming back to this. We wanted a big stout that was on the drier side and complex and chocolatey. We used Cascarra (the cherryish outside of a coffee bean), cocoa nibs and aged it on some whole coffee beans from the guys at Buddy Brew.” – Casey Hughes, Brewmaster at Coppertail Brewing
“This beer is pretty dangerous. There are layers of malt and the alcohol is well hidden. Despite everything going on, the beer is very easy to drink. Very much looking forward to the next collab with Coppertail.” – Josh Brengle, Production Manager at Cigar City Brewing.
“I love how the beer is rich and smooth and is dangerously drinkable for an 11% beer. We also aged a bunch of it in some 4 Roses barrels and I’m very excited to see how that turned out too!” – Casey Hughes, Brewmaster at Coppertail Brewing
“Initially, we threw out a ton of different ideas. The RIS seemed to be the one that stuck around as we whittled down the list. Casey and I have similar palates, so from there it was pretty simple. The night before brew-day we drank a few beers and threw a recipe together. We knew we wanted the beer to be very drinkable, but also big, decadent, and complex (as an imperial stout should be). This beer is drier than most of the stouts we do at CCB and the roast is dialed back.” – Josh Brengle, Production Manager at Cigar City Brewing.

Coppertail Brewing Co., is located at 2601 East 2nd Ave., Tampa 33605. The tasting room will be open from Noon to 7pm on the date of the bottle release.
