Saltwater Brewery to bring LocAle to cans

Saltwater Brewery of Delray Beach has been receiving a lot of press for the edible sixpack rings they are rolling out.  Saltwater’s year-round offerings have been anchored by Screamin’ Reels IPA and Sea Cow Milk Stout, but soon there will be a third ale in the core offerings, making this a trinity: LocAle Session Ale.  Clocking in at 4.7% alcohol, LocAle is a lighter ale and will pair well with the hot outdoor Florida season.

From Saltwater Brewery:

We’ve officially launched our THIRD canned beer…LocAle! 3.7%, and super light and refreshing, LocAle is an all-day drinking beer, perfect for the boat, beach, golf course, or wherever the Florida lifestyle takes you! Come grab a six pack from the Tasting Room. LocAle will be available in the market later this month.

SaltWater Brewery’s upcoming releases

Last week, SaltWater Brewery hinted at a few upcoming releases, this week, from co-owner and brewer Dustin Jeffers.

From SaltWater’s newsletter:

*Black Current returns this week! We will be publicly releasing this beer on Thursday April 2 starting at noon. However, if you want to try some a little earlier, come in Wednesday from 10-11 PM. We will be pouring The Black Current during the airing of Brew Dogs’ season premier.

*Every week we will have a special beer tapped during the episode leading up to the Miami episode that we are in on May 20th! Come watch the episode with us on Wednesday and ask us any questions you have about The Black Current or beer in general.

*Also, releasing on Thursday is Double Barreled Belgian Dubbel. This is our Belgian Dubbel aged in Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. We blended both styles together for our biggest barrel release so far!

*Next week we will be releasing our collaboration beer with Terrapin Beer Co. Spike came down from Athens and we brewed a Black India Rye Ale. All we can say about this beer is its dark and dank.

Saltwater Brewery looking forward to being Delray Beach’s craft brewery

The nice folks from Saltwater Brewery have their eye set on becoming Delray Beach’s first microbrewery. They are currently in the construction phase of building their brewery and they took some time to answer a few questions about themselves, their beers, and the construction process.

Saltwater Brewery begins with lifelong friends coming together to share their mutual love of beer and the ocean. Bo Eaton, Chris Gove, and Peter Agardy realized that together their business skills bring together local beer knowledge, financial know-how, home brewing passion, and sales experience, and together they could form a great team making beer for the community where they all grew up. Along with head brewer Bill Taylor and apprentice brewer Dustin Jeffers, the Saltwater Team looks forward to the day where they will be a local craft beer destination in Palm Beach County.

While Saltwater’s core beers are still up in the air, to be determined by the needs, wants, and bar tabs of customers, the brewing staff anticipates six beers making the first run in the brewery: “an extra pale ale, an IPA, a DIPA, a milk stout, a Belgian blond, and a scotch ale.” Once the schedule is arranged and worked through, the team at Saltwater will brew beers on a 20-barrel brewing system made in Oregon City, Oregon, overseen by Taylor.

While Saltwater reiterated on Sunday through Facebook that “…we still can’t give a definite date for opening but we are working EVERYDAY here to get things right, it’s been a long road and we appreciate the support and following, and it pushes us to strive to get things right and open as soon as we can!!”

More details on Saltwater Brewing’s grand opening as it becomes available.
