Rapp Brewing announces new members of the brew team

Recently Greg Rapp of Rapp Brewing has announced a few changes to his lineup. Those changes have nothing to do with the ever-rotating lineup of beers coming through the tap lines, but instead deal with the folks who make those enchanting liquids that pour in the tap room.

Recently Rapp posted that the brewery has a new head brewer:

Please join me in congratulating Joe Scheibelhut, who is now our Head Brewer!
Joe has been with us over one and a half years and has been running the brewery operations for more than 6 months now. I haven’t had any complaints about the beer…so I guess he’s doing a pretty good job – LOL.
Seriously though, thank you Joe for all you have done for us!

After that, Rapp posted that there will be a new assistant brewer helping Joe out:

Please join me in welcoming Clinton Sallee to the Rapp team as our newest assistant brewer!
Clinton has decided to give up his three piece suit for coveralls and rubber boots to work in our brewery.

In summary, Rapp Brewing now has “7 full time employees and 1 part time employee working on bringing you the best selection of beers in Florida!”

Rapp Brewing teases photos of Barrel-aged Robust Porter

Rapp Brewing Company of Seminole has made a name for themselves in the short time that they have been open. Brewer Greg Rapp prides himself on keeping his tasting room stocked with dozens of house beers.

Periodically, Rapp releases a beer in bottles like OMG, or the vaunted Gose. Recently, Rapp teased photos of a labeled bottle bearing the enticing “Robust Porter Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels” moniker. No release date or further information was set for this beer.

Rapp Brewing is located in the Seminole area of Tampa Bay and was named Ratebeer.com’s Best New Brewer of 2013. Rapp does ship a few kegs to distribution around Tampa Bay, so while a trip to the Rapp tasting room is not necessary to taste his beer, it is a worthwhile experience.

Rapp Brewing to release Gose in a bottle

Seminole- Rapp Brewing Company’s Gose, the beer that won the brewery a gold medal at the Best Florida Beer Competition and helped gain national attention as Ratebeer.com’s #1 rated Gose, is coming soon to bottles.

The brewery announced this week that on Saturday, October 12th, 2013, bottles of Rapp Gose will be released for the first time ever. The brewery will impose a 4 bottle limit on those wanting to buy the beer, and each bottle will cost $20.

What is a Gose? According to Michael Jackson’s Beer Companion, a gose (pronounced “Go-suh”) is a “citric-tasting wheat beer, also containing oats, flavored with coriander and- the key ingredient- salt.” Rapp’s Gose is gaining in regard as one of the finest in the world, and will be released in a custom 750mL Italian bottle.
