From Barrel of Monks Brewing Newsletter:
It’s hot out there, so we’re releasing the perfect complement to a toasty summer’s day. Single in Havana is our crisp, guava-infused ale. When brewing this fruity fan favorite, we struck a balance between Belgian beer-making tradition and tropical South Florida lifestyle.
We started with our singel brew, and added sweet and tangy guava during the fermentation process to infuse the ale with a fruity zing. The result is a light and balanced beer featuring delicate malt flavors with hints of yeast and guava fruit on the back end.
The singel is also known as “Patersbier,” and is the beer of choice for Belgian monk brewers because of its refreshing qualities and drinkability. Single in Havana will be available on Saturday, June 1st on tap and in 4-packs for $9.99.
Single in Havana will be available on tap and in 4-packs in the tasting room and at local retailers starting Saturday, June 1st.
The idea for the brewery was born several years ago when a group of Belgian-beer loving friends started traveling to Belgium to see how their favorite beers were brewed. Along the way, they learned about themselves as well as the beer. The three friends started brewing themselves and never looked back, honing their brewing skills to develop high-quality ales reminiscent of the fine ales coming out of Belgium.
