Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks expands distribution in South Florida

Press Release: Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks is excited to announce a new distribution partnership with Beerstream Distributors. This new partnership is expected to increase availability in existing and new markets across South Florida.

Accomplice Brewery and Ciderworks has been in commercial production since June 2015. It is South Florida’s first ciderworks and offers an innovative take on ciders. Cider is relatively new on the South Florida craft beverage scene, Accomplice offers an alternative to beer with a naturally gluten-free apple cider product that is not overly sweet. “We are seeking to produce a product that distances itself from existing ciders on the market by being distinctively different, fresh and high quality,” said Matt Stetson, head cidermaker and co-owner of Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks.

Beerstream Distributors is a boutique distributor focused on local brands that can shape the future of South Florida’s rising craft landscape. Besides Accomplice Brewery & Ciderworks, the brand also represents Hollywood Brewing and recently acquired Devour Brewing Company. “Beerstream Distributors has spent the last 11 months building its infrastructure and account list throughout Broward and Dade Counties, “ said Brett Hubbard, Director of Sales at Beerstream Distributors, “The recent move into Palm Beach County will open up a market for new acquisitions to thrive.”

Funky Buddha Brewery

Funky Buddha adds food to the funk

Press Release:

Funky Buddha is brewing up something special yet again – this time, in the kitchen. The brewery announces today its plans to build Craft Food Counter & Kitchen inside it’s Oakland Park tap room. This next step in Funky Buddha Brewery’s evolution will be a locally-driven kitchen, combining gourmet-caliber plates with a fast-casual “counter” method of service that will fit right in to the tap room’s communal atmosphere.

“Funky Buddha has always been known for its culinary approach to beer, and now we’ll finally have a kitchen to match,” says KC Sentz, co-owner of Funky Buddha Brewery. “The ability to incorporate quality food and beer together will just complete the tap room experience for our customers.”

Craft Food Counter & Kitchen (CFC) will be helmed by Jeff Vincent, a South Carolina native and veteran head chef who most recently brought acclaim to the fantastic Beauty & the Feast inside the Atlantic Hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach. Vincent joined the Funky Buddha family in early April to produce the menu and oversee build out plans. His eclectic style draws on his low country roots, combining European technique learned from his early days apprenticing in the Iberian Peninsula with world-class kitchen experience at resorts such as Callaway Gardens and Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Georgia.

“Funky Buddha’s unique beers are an amazing source of inspiration,” says Vincent. “Getting to create dishes that will interact with these beers has got me anxious to fire up that kitchen and get cooking.”

Vincent’s menu will combine farm-to-table ethos with upscale street food. Everything will be made in house, utilizing local ingredients as well as the beers themselves. Pickled vegetables will be made using only fresh, seasonal produce. Sauces, soups, and even Bavarian-style soft pretzels will be made in house daily. The later – a signature item at CFC – will utilize ingredients from every step in the brewing process: spent grains in the dough, real brewer’s yeast as a leavening agent, and finished beer in a variety of housemade dipping sauces including Doc Brown whole grain mustard, sriracha buttermilk dressing, and red ale cheese dip.

Traditional pub fare will all receive a twist courtesy of Vincent. The Mighty Tatanka burger will feature a blend of lean bison livened with bacon, smoked buffalo mozzarella, charred plum tomatoes, and sweet onion compote. Deviled eggs — a true Southern staple — will be set off with pancetta lardons and house-pickled okra. Sharable plates perfect for splitting over a few beers will also be a central focus. Dishes include wok-blistered shishito peppers with smoked peanuts and lime pearls, and beer-battered chicken and biscuit sliders with sawmill gravy. CFC at Funky Buddha Brewery will serve lunch, happy hour, and dinner daily.

The addition of Craft Food Counter & Kitchen will also allow the brewery to conduct beer dinners on site, pairing its brews with custom dishes turned out by Vincent. A full-service private room that seats 125 is being built concurrently and will host corporate events, receptions, and private functions with a full catering menu to match.

Construction on CFC is set to begin immediately with an estimated completion in September. This news comes as the brewery is set to host its Second Annual Anniversary Festival & Block Party on May 30th, which promises to be the largest craft beer event to date held in South Florida. This beer is fermenting nicely and is almost done.

Black Market Brewery will soon be available in South Florida

Press Release:

Black Market Brewery’s high-quality, handcrafted beer will be available in South Florida beginning April 1st.

From humble beginnings, a small budget, tight resources, and big goals are what our first brews were made out of at a small warehouse that was, more realistically, a large garage. On that small 1 bbl brewing system we pinned our dreams and created the much-loved Hefeweizen. With big dreams for a microbrewery, Black Market opened to put Temecula, California on the map with a commitment to use only the best malt, hops and yeast, all selected by hand to ensure quality.

The results were award-winning products with a reputation for craft excellence. As one of Temecula’s first craft breweries, Black Market introduced locally brewed beers to the community. Now found far beyond Temecula, Black Market beers are on shelves and in establishments throughout California, Arizona, Washington and now coming to South Florida. We will be releasing our four year around canned offerings Deception 4.5%ABV. (Blonde Ale – w/ Lime and Coconut), Hefeweizen 5.0%ABV. (Silver Medal Winner at GABF), Aftermath 5.8%ABV. (Session IPA), Rye IPA 7.5%ABV. (Gold Medal Winner at GABF) as well as the limited release Seek and Destroy 12.7%ABV. (Smoked Quadruple India Pale Ale) and releasing in June will be our Cherry and Blackberry canned sours from our Trade Craft Series.

Black Market has partnered up with Crafty Connoisseurs to distribute our brand throughout South Florida for more information on where to find our beers please contact sales@craftyconnoisseurs.com.

Saint Arnold Brewing is coming to South Florida

Saint Arnold Brewing Co. (www.saintarnold.com), the oldest craft brewery in Texas, has announced its long-awaited expansion to Miami. The decision comes nearly a year and a half after Saint Arnold first established a presence in the Florida panhandle and along the Florida Gulf Coast.

“We wanted to take time to establish a solid footprint along the Gulf Coast before expanding into Miami,” said Saint Arnold Founder/Brewer Brock Wagner. “During that time, we have seen demand for craft beer explode throughout Florida. We are very excited to join the Miami craft beer community.”

Eagle Brands Sales has signed on as Saint Arnold’s Miami distributor. Starting the week of April 6th, Saint Arnold’s most popular brands, including Fancy Lawnmower, Santo, and the brewery’s rotating
selection of seasonal offerings, plus the brewery’s fastest growing brand – Ale Wagger – will be available throughout Southern Florida, including the Florida Keys.

Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer – A true German-style Kölsch that is crisp yet has a sweet malty body that is balanced by a complex, citrus hop character. This delicate flavor is achieved through multiple additions of German Hallertauer hops.

Santo – The originator of the black Kölsch style, it is brewed using a Kölsch recipe with the addition of Munich and black malt. It is light bodied and floral yet with a distinct dark malt flavor.

Saint Arnold Ale Wagger – A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A portion of proceeds support local animal welfare initiatives.

Saint Arnold Seasonals – When combined, Saint Arnold’s seasonal selection is the brewery’s top seller. It includes Spring Bock, Summer Pils, Oktoberfest, Christmas Ale and Winter Stout.

Coinciding with Saint Arnold’s introduction to Miami, Wagner will meet with craft beer enthusiasts on April 8th and 9th, discussing the brewery he established more than 20 years ago, sampling beers and sharing his brewing philosophies. Planned events include:

Destihl’s Wild Sour Series soon available in South Florida

DESTIHL® Brewery, of Bloomington, Illinois, is excited to announce its upcoming, groundbreaking release of its Wild Sour Series in cans starting October 2014 and coming to South Florida starting in mid-February.

The first Wild Sour Series can to hit the market will be Here Gose Nothin’TM, which will be the brewery’s flagship, year-round canned sour. It is a traditional, German/Leipzig-style Gose, which undergoes spontaneous fermentation and exhibits a complex, ‘no-holds-barred’ acidic flavor and aroma contributed by wild yeast and lactic fermentation. Lemon, lime and other citrus-like qualities are present in aroma and on the palette, which is balanced by the spicy character of added coriander and a stylistic mineral-mouthfeel from added sea salt. The beer
has a 5% ABV.

The Gose (a 2014 Silver Medal recipient at both the Los Angeles International Beer Competition and BTI’s World Beer Championship) will be soon followed in November by the release of Flanders Red, which has an initial impression of tart cherries and sour candy that dissipates into a complex palate displaying both a sharp lactic sourness with a backbone of caramel and biscuit malt profiles at 6.1% ABV, making it perfect for fall and winter months. Counter ClockWeisseTM (a 3% ABV Berliner-style Weisse, which won a Gold medal this summer at the Denver International Beer Competition and Silver at BTI’s World Beer Championship) will then hit the market in March 2015, and LynnbrookTM
Raspberry Sour Ale (the brewery’s new fruited Berliner-style Weisse that recently received a Gold Medal at both BTI’s World Beer Championship and the Indiana State Fair) will be released next June to round out the canned sour series. The Wild Sours will be available to sample (on draft) at the brewery’s booth at this year’s Great American Beer Festival®.

“DESTIHL will be the only brewery (that we know of anyway since things change daily now!) that is packaging an entire series of sour beers in cans and one of less than a handful of breweries that has put sour beer in a can at all,” said Matt Potts, DESTIHL’S founder, CEO and Brewmaster. “This is something we have wanted to do for years, so it is awesome to see this canned Wild Sour Series become a reality.”

The Wild Sour beers will hit the shelves in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans in all 13 markets the brewery currently distributes to, including Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington and Florida, and joins the brewery’s existing can line-up of Abbey’s SingleTM, Hoperation OverloadTM Double IPA and Strawberry Blonde Ale as well as another new can release planned for this fall: Vertex IPATM (to be announced soon).
